I am 5'4, 201lbs, more tummy than I like. I bought size 16a and they fit perfect. Do not go by the picture. They fit so much better than shown. They are not leggings. The legs are fitted but not too snug to look 'tacky'. I have had them about a month. Washed several times. No shrinkage. So comfortable. Sit at my waist just the way I like them. I do not like the low rise pants. I ordered 2 of the medium denim. I went back and ordered a pair in the black and tan. I would like to have the light denim but it isn't listed. I have been losing some weight and plan on ordering a couple of 14a for encouragement! They would probably fit now but maybe a little to tight for my liking. I highly recommend this pants. The reviews I read that said they were leggings I think where purchased too small. Also , the leggings I have gotten are a lot thinner and of a different fabric. I think the weight is perfect. Not so heavy they take forever to dry and also not too thin. The length on me is a little longer than in the pic, which I also like. Without shoes they hit the floor. However, I like them to his the top of my shoes with a little to spare and they do just that. I hope Chic will continue to make these and Amazon will continue to carry them. So many times I find something I really like but find it has been discontinued or changed. I am ordering a couple more just for that reason! By the way, I an 73 years old. Don't be afraid to get these if you are as ancient as I am!! They are not 'teen 'jeans. I wear long tops, blouses, tunics to cover my aging belly so these look no different than Jeans with the zipper/button that take forever to squeeze into and I find very uncomfortable at my age. Now that I think about it they never were comfortable!! Hope this helps you make a decision to give these a try. They are a nice beige color and the material is good. They do stretch but only a little. The fit is excellent but the beige ones are a little roomy in the tummy area and I have a flat stomach. Thus, the four stars. I really like them for around the house or to go out in public. The length is perfect for my build. If you are shorter, you could probably cuff them. The legs are not too wide nor too slim and very comfortable. The blue denim ones fit perfectly, including the tummy area. I ordered three more of the blue ones. The blue ones have a slightly more light-weight material and they stretch more. I love them.
