Squeeze a little more or a little less to increase the air flow. When its inflated, hold your tongue over the opening, then slide your finger over the opening while removing your tongue. Use your other hand to slide the plug into the opening while removing your finger. **Q: We bougt these for our upcoming beach vacation, any recommendations for a travel pump?** A: Best travel pool float of all time. You won’t need a pump because the smallish ends don’t require that much air. However the float is perfect for men and women. **Q: What material is in the middle** A: Mesh, very soft and comfortable.
