## Description

Celestron has designed and engineered the larger SkyMaster models to meet the unique demands of extended astronomical or terrestrial viewing sessions. This special zoom version packs even more power, with adjustable magnification that goes from 15x to a maximum of 35x power. Due to its size and weight—including its very large objective lenses—this binocular should be mounted on a standard photographic tripod for extended periods of use. We’ve included a tripod adapter rod that allows you to mount your SkyMaster binoculars on any sturdy ¼”-20 photographic tripod in seconds. These extra-large & powerful binoculars ensure high performance in all weather conditions and are ideal for astronomical viewing or terrestrial (land-based) viewing over long distances. Astronomers have praised the Celestron SkyMaster for decades for its high-quality BaK-4 prisms and multi-coated optics, which enhance contrast and bring out bright, sharp images—especially in low-light conditions. The binoculars feature soft, comfortable rubber eyecups that block stray light. Eyeglass wearers can fold down the eyecups and view with their eyeglasses on. Your purchase of the Celestron SkyMaster 15-35x70 binoculars includes the tripod adapter, objective lens caps, a rainguard, a deluxe carrying case, a neck strap, a lens cloth, and an instruction manual. Buy with confidence from the world’s No.1 telescope brand and a leading binocular manufacturer, based in California since 1960.

Review: Good for ASTRONOMY, colimation is correct - These binoculars are quite exceptional for their price, although their build quality is not the best, I must say that it was above what I expected for the price. They work like any other pair of binoculars and are intuitive to use, but at the same time you must know what these are for. DO NOT use these for looking at objectives that are close in distance, the colimation will seem off otherwise, before you return them for bad colimation I recommend using it on a distant target to test it, the further the better. As for the optics themselves they're excellent, the glass is clear and lets through a lot of light, although some brightness is lost at higher zooms the 70mm objective lenses are more than capable of delivering a bright picture. They're quite heavy but bearable, I recommend using a tripod, but if you have steady hands they're very much usable that way. The FOV is small, this is because they're meant for astronomy, this should be expected, I calculate an FOV of 2.2 degrees, this creates a tunnel effect so look into that before buying if it bother you. Overall for the price they're very good
Review: Solid Product - Bought these to go to the night park in Michigan. If you’re using them to look at the sky, then you’ll need a tripod. Too shaky otherwise. They don’t zoom in far enough for looking at the stars, but I had good detail looking at the moon from my back yard. The kit comes with the attachment for a tripod, a case, lens covers, and a cleaning cloth. They’re very large binoculars, so be ready for that. The case made them easy to transport when riding a bicycle.

## Features

- POWERFUL 15-35X ZOOM BINOCULAR: Giant binoculars with massive 70mm objective lenses and powerful adjustable zoom for 15 to 35x magnification. Pair with any tripod for long-distance land-based viewing or astronomy.
- WORKS WITH YOUR TRIPOD: Due to their size & weight, most users mount SkyMaster binoculars on a traditional photo tripod (not included). The included ¼”-20 adapter attaches to most tripods in seconds.
- BRIGHT, SHARP VIEWS WITH BaK-4 PRISMS: The SkyMaster is a favorite among those who view in dim conditions near dawn and dusk or at night for astronomy. BaK-4 prisms maximize light throughput to your eye so you see brighter, more detailed images.
- DURABLE AND WATER-RESISTANT: A rubber-armored housing protects your binoculars from damage and provides a secure gripping surface. The water-resistant exterior stands up to tough conditions and unexpected rainy weather.
- UNBEATABLE WARRANTY & CUSTOMER SUPPORT: Buy with confidence from Celestron, a leading optics brand in California since 1960. Your purchase includes a Celestron Limited Lifetime US Warranty & US-based expert tech support.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How good would these be to use to spot small things around 1000+ yards??**
A: The question as written would be very difficult for me to answer. I don't have a good feel for what 1000 yards (more than 1/2 mile) looks like. Small is relative: compared to a car, a car window is small, compared to a bird, a birds eye is small. The thing that would not change is that you would need some kind of sturdy support. These are large, heavy binoculars and hand holding them will just cause you frustration.

**Q: Are the actual dimensions of these 25-125/80 Skymasters 18" x 12" x 8"? I want to find a good protective carry case for them beforecI buy them.**
A: No, those are not the actual dimensions of the 25-125 x 80 Celestron Skymaster binoculars, Model 71020. I own this pair. The Celestron product box it comes in is 16 1/8" tall by 10 7/8" wide by 7" deep. This product box also comes inside a Celestron shipping box that is 17 1/2" tall by 11 7/8" wide by 7 3/4" deep. This is likely the dimensions you have quoted. The exact manner in which these binoculars are stowed will determine the internal dimensions required in a hard case.As this set has a integral tripod mounting system (which can twist, or have its securing knob removed), along with the fact that the binoculars can 'fold' slightly for pupilary distance adjustment, the dimensions are actually variable for storage. The EXACT dimensions are -Height A: 13.500 inches (13 1/2" or 342.900 mm) with no caps in place, and eye relief down.Height B: 13.750 inches (13 3/4" or 349.250 mm) with all caps in place.Width A: 8.5625 inches (8 9/16" or 217.487 mm) when 'folded' (eye protection caps do not fit properly when binoculars are 'folded')Width B: 9.125 inches (9 1/8" or 231.775 mm) when 'unfolded'.Depth A: 4.000 inches (4" or 101.600 mm) when 'folded' and the tripod retention knob is removed.Depth B: 4.4375 inches (4 7/16" or 112.7125 mm) when 'unfolded' and the tripod retention knob is removed.Depth C: 4.750 inches (4 3/4" or 120.650 mm) when 'unfolded' and the tripod retention knob is left in place. So according to my EXACT measurements -The very smallest interior dimensions of a hard case would be by using Height A, Width A, and Depth A, which amounts to:13.5 inches by 8.5625 inches by 4 inches (462.375 cubic inches). The very largest interior dimensions of a hard case would be by using Height B, Width B, and Depth C, which amounts to:13.75 inches by 9.125 inches by 4.75 inches (595.976562 cubic inches)...So it all depends on how you configure the binoculars for storage that will determine what size hard case to acquire. Personally, I'd go with the larger case, so the protection caps can be used.If you concur, you might check into the Pelican "1485 Air" case w/ foam (about $161), or the Pelican "1450 Protector" case w/ foam (about $94), but these can be expensive. You might just take the 2 very same closed-cell foam inserts that come in the box and use them inside a hinged (2" down from the most expansive face) wood box you create for yourself with the interior dimensions of 15.5" by 10.5" by 6.5".Good luck, and let me know if you need any further information.

**Q: Is it Normal to kinda see a double image at full 125x magnification?**
A: Yes, I really liked them at minimum magnification. I couldn't see well at the 125. It was double image and smaller and somewhat blurry. I was disappointed. I wanted something like you would see on an observatory. Like the space needle or a scenic view scope. I wanted to watch cruise ships in the distance but it wasn't really satisfied because I couldn't really see the people it was too small and uneven.

**Q: What is the close focusing distance?**
A: The focus is a joke. I sent it back immediately as most other people did. Please read the reviews.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Too heavy for most tripods
*by D***E on September 1, 2026*

I had no issues with these as others seemed to have. I could see the moon craters clearly. My only beef, they are heavy, and will topple over most medium or small tripods.
