**Q: what is the surface you are cutting on?  Plastic?**
A: It is a plastic type of material, I think. I'd add the first time I cut a steak on it, it left cut marks on it. I won't use it for steak. For a roast it's great! Nancy

A: yes

**Q: How easy is this board to keep sanitized**
A: Easy, just scrub with a bristle brush or put in dishwasher.

**Q: Does  this dull knives (cutting on either side)?**
A: I haven't experienced any dulling of knives.

I love cooking and have purchased at least 10 different cutting boards and always end up disliking them. I was always looking for a large board with deep grooves for the precious meat juice, and an easy way to pour that juice back into my pan to have for au jus. Most of the boards I have bought have narrow shallow grooves that did not hold the juice or were so heavy that couldn't lift them to pour. Finally I found this board which is large, for a Prime Rib or Turkey etc. Is is sloped so the juice runs together in a corner with a pouring spour. PLUS...it is lightweight so I can handle it myself!
