I had a really bad clog in my mainline. I had water backing up in my downstairs shower and toilet. I tried a bunch of different liquid drain uncloggers first, then I was gunna rent a mainline snake from home depot, but decided to try this first. This thing worked wonders. Both are 4-inch PVC. Thank you.** A: You should not have a problem with a 90-degree turn but it will not do a "U" trap! **Q: How does the pressure that builds not escape through roof vents that are before the clog??** A: more information is needed. What pressure are you referring to? you have to push the drain king through the pipe, past the vent, up to the clog. slowly turn on the water until the bladder expands. Pressure will build between the clog and the front of the drain king, due to the slow release of water. If pressure does not build, it is because the water is either washing away the particles clogging the line or the line is not compacted enough to restrict the low volume of water. Try increasing the water flow. Too much pressure can cause the drain king or the pipe to rupture. **Q: Can these be used for a 3 inch downspout on the exterior of a house or will it break the downspout? My downspout is unreachable to disconnect and cle** A: If the 3" pipe is round it can be used. DO not turn the hose on all the way, the restricted flow will cause the bladder to expand and this can break thin wall pipe. Usually the bladder will break in the middle before the pipe if the flow is too high. **Q: My questions are: 1. what is minimum pressure that will inflate the H34 to plug a 3-inch pipe? 2. What is maximum operating pressure?** A: I only know that, I used the house hold pressure at my residence which I believe is about 40 lbs. and that it worked fine. You might get by with less pressure but you, because I think you would be able to blow up the bag with less pressure but you need at least that much to blow the line clean, depending how long the run of pipe is. For the maximum pressure, you would have to get that information from the manufacturer. You have to remember that the pressure is not constant on the bag because some pressure is escaping through the end where the water is coming out ! I had to clean about 28 ft. of pipe. Have a good experience. I used this system where used to worked. God's Blessing on day ! ! ! Also, I stuck the bag into the pipe about 6 ft. and after washing for 10 minutes, shut off the water and moved it 6 feet further and keep repeating this until the whole pipe is clear. Measure the length of pipe and put a marker on the hose. This time I had a better idea of the issues that happen before the full back up happens. Flushing the toilet and then bubbling in the toilet and slow drainage in the tub. Then waste coming up in the shower/tub when flushing the toilet is the last line of defense before it’s all over your floors! So this time I watched some videos and stumbled across this item. Seemed reasonable enough if you kinda understand what’s happening. Something clogs the mainline (toilet paper, toys, or even roots) and all you need is an enough pressure to push it out of the way. Now it could be a major issue like a collapsed pipe, but if you just need to push the junk down the pipe, THIS WILL DO THE TRICK! (The first thing I did try was some chemicals that should have eroded the junk, but that didn’t work for me. That was about $100) After some research, I went with this brand. A lot of people advised not to go with other brands. I hooked it up to the hose line and you have to push it down just enough to seal off where water doesn’t overflow on the ground, but also so that it doesn’t blow back into the house. It’s not far, but look at some videos on this (if you don’t push it far enough it will either not work or make a larger mess). The first time I tried it (I was a little scared), I turned the water on for 5 mins but it wasn’t sealed so it didn’t work. It wasn’t far enough in the pipe or maybe was in an area where it didn’t fill the pipe all the way. The second time I did it, I pushed it a little further, this time I knew it wouldn’t blow back into the house so I was less scared. It made a seal so that the water didn’t come out the top of the pipe onto the ground. I ran the water for 10 mins. When I turned the water off, I heard a big suction sound and that’s what you are waiting for. The blockage was pushed out and you are back to normal. They say that you should run the hose a little longer just to make sure the junk is pushed all the way down the line. Some lines of 100ft or more. Anyway, this was a $21 solution. I know I saved myself hundreds of dollars and the headache of having to call a plumber. Now I have what I need in the event that this were to happen again.
