these lemon pies are delicious....i love them....i am ordering more and more every other week....they are made on the east coast....so it takes about 5 or 6 days to receive them here on the west coast California.....they are shipped frozen so they thaw out being slightly cold when you receive them....put them in the fridge....always tasty and i have experienced no bad pies in all my past buys....i have looked and searched but could never find any lemon pies being made out here on the west coast....these lemon tasty pies give my mouth a fresh wake up taste in the mornings, and late at night i enjoy this lemon tasty flavor after eating dinner....and before i go to bed i usually eat half a pie, just for the taste so it stays with me, and it makes me smile and happy.....thank you JJ'S and please continue your delicious great tasting lemon pies !!!!!!!!

Short version: 3 stars for Blackberry +0.5 for good packaging, I'd eat another. 1.5 stars for Chocolate and that's entirely for the crust and packaging. Ordered chocolate pies & blackberry pies to pack for a family car trip. Rather expensive counting shipping (not Prime eligible). They were late, but not TOO late luckily; tracking data puts that on the postal service and the weather, not the seller. Stuff happens and the seller (B Direct) was prompt in replying and helpful. Taste tested both on arrival. Crusts were quite good in texture and taste, especially for something out of a box, no sogginess or staleness in the two I opened. No sell-by date stamp (there is a code that I assume will get me one if I contact the company, will see) but they seem fresh enough to me. Packing was a sturdy box padded with crumpled paper; each pie comes in an individual paper box, reducing "smushability" somewhat as well. These arrived intact. Blackberry pies' filling = a clear bluish gel with a few sparse seeds suspended in it (actual blackberries are in the ingredients, but some way down the list). Filling flavor and texture is definitely not on par with a proper berry pie, but I didn't expect it to be; it's all right, would eat another. The chocolate pies' filling, however, is a bust: Insufficiently chocolatey, so sweet that it made my eyes water. I didn't see milk listed in the ingredients, and while that was why I got these for the lactose intolerant on the trip (to save a few digestive caplets), I think it's part of the flavor problem, too. I took three bites from different parts of the chocolate pie in case I'd just hit a nugget of sugar, but the whole thing was intolerably sweet. Threw the rest of it out and donated the others. These lemon pies are delicious, I have reordered these several times. The crust has a sugar glaze and tastes fresh. They are a normal size, not too small or too large. I will buy again.

Overall these are really good. The issue I have with them is the sugar ‘glaze’ which is over sweet for my taste.

First time I have tried these, but a little disappointed. The apple filling was thin, the crust a little think. But, when you heat it a little, the flavor comes out. A bit expensive I think. The size was great.

My husband loves the fried pies! They are always fresh and not full of sugar! The sweetness comes from the fruit and pudding that in the pies! They aren’t glazed on top like all the other fried pies are! They are in individual boxes and easy to carry in lunch boxes! Without crushing like the ones in bags do! Thank you and keep up the good work!

This product was 😖 AWFUL. BOXES SMASHED AND THE PRODUCT SEEMED OLD!!!!!!!!

I've been wanting apple pie for a long time and finally had a little extra money so I bought a box of JJ apple pies. In the first pie I found two discernible small pieces of apple but mostly just filled with super sweet gooey stuff which was faintly fruity but did have perfect first bite with nutmeg. In each of the other pies I found 0 to 2 pieces of apple each. The crust was very soggy, much better when frozen, but I will definitely not buy these again and I'm not going to try other JJ pie flavors based on my deep disappointment with this box of supposed apple pies. Will go to McDonald's for apple pie from now on where they use actual apples and a perfect crust
