Also a lot safer than stripping with a knife. I don't think the hand crank would be a very good option but it is very easy to hook up a battery drill. I used a ty-wrap to control the trigger and turned it on and off by removing the battery. The setup is the only downside, as you need to fine tune it for even slightly different gauges of wire. I chose this because the electronic wire strippers aren't an option at my recycle yard. The open blade without guides really doesn't work. You basically need the side guides to keep the wire tracking straight. The blade is very sharp, it cuts through the thickest and oldest tapes and insulation. I hope this brand will be around for years to come in the event I need replacement parts.
