Fill up the reservoir. Do 2 descaling cycles with the solution (you can re-use the first). Then do 3 cycles with clean water. then brew coffee afterward to test. You'll notice better crema, reduced bitterness Descaling isn't magic. The calcium build-up are alkaline minerals, so you need an acid to dissolve them and flush it out. It the same process as de-scaling a faucet or regular coffee maker. The official product is just powdered citric acid. You can use lemon juice in place of vinegar if you like , but it's 20x as expensive (the nespresso product is 100x). t **Q: The instructions were very vague. Do I empty the entire package into the water and rinse it through??** A: Yes, you empty the whol package and run water through the machine at least three times, reusing the same water each time. then rinse it out and run it once without the solution (using purewater) before using it again. **Q: Why would someone pay more for descaling solution here on Amazon than via Nespresso ?** A: I wonder why answers always seem to be all over the place. This product is NOT available for Amazon Prime. The free shipping was ~5-10 days. The total price on Nespresso website was about a dollar cheaper and with 2 days UPS shipping. **Q: Can I use this for my Virtuoline machine?** A: Yes, it will work for VertuoLine machines ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works with Lattissima m Touch. *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 27 October 2018* My machine stopped working so thought I'd try to descale it to see if that would make a difference .... and as if by magic, it now works again. It is rather expensive which is a nuisance as I'm sure it will require another descale in the not too distant future. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very quick effective descaler *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 15 April 2026* Quality descaler ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ An effective but an expensive solution. *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 25 November 2019* Look... it did the job that it was meant to do, did it effectively and I have no complaints in that regard. However, when you consider what that job was, i.e. cleaning a bit of scale from a coffee maker, then this is a very, very expensive solution.I'm sure that there are products out there that will do the job just as well for a fraction of the price. Nespresso products seem to lean towards the expensive end of the spectrum anyway, especially their capsules but £9.71 for 2 sachets of descaling fluid is completely over the top. ## Frequently Bought Together - Parkway Distributors Descaling Solution, Fits all Models, 2 Packets - Nespresso Capsules Vertuo, Variety Pack, Medium and Dark Roast Coffee, 30 Count Coffee Pods, Brews 7.8 oz. - Nespresso Capsules Vertuo, Double Espresso Chiaro, Medium Roast Espresso Coffee, 30-Count Coffee Pods, Brews 2.7oz. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.uy/products/48049916-descaling-nespresso-descaling](https://www.desertcart.uy/products/48049916-descaling-nespresso-descaling) --- *Product available on Desertcart Uruguay* *Store origin: UY* *Last updated: 2026-10-02*
