Review: Great Cable - Needed a short patch cable to connect my NAS to my router, and this does exactly what it says on the tin. The 0.9m length was spot-on for my setup—no awkward excess or messy clutter. The build quality is great for the price: the connectors clip in solidly, and I’m getting full gigabit speeds with zero dropouts. The flat profile is a nice touch, making it easy to route neatly along a skirting board or under a rug. At the end of the day, it's just a cable, but it's well-made, reliable, and excellent value for a few pounds. More like a bait & switch as the pins are clearly cat5 and the transfer speed is listed as 1 gigabit & not 10 gigabit!** A: Those other answers are idiotic. Cat 7 is not a real IEEE recognized ethernet standard. It's also a lot older than most think and is not actually newer than cat6 or cat6A. Cat5E is rated for short-ranged NBASE-T multigigabit (2.5 and 5). Not rated, but some people have success with very short range 10GbE. Don't count on it. Cat6 is rated for 10GbE up to 55m. Cat6A is rated for 10GbE up to 100m (which is the maximum length of *regular* base-t speeds, there are some long-distance specs out there that honestly are probably better served with fiber) Cat8 is rated for 25 or 40GbE (per the standard, though I can't say I've ever seen any equipment for it, and I SELL cisco gear) **Q: I need a wire that can support 200mbps is it worth going beyond cat 6?** A: cat5e and/or cat 6 will support up to 1000 megabits up to 100 meters (~330 ft) Also, you're either going to connect at 100Megabit, or 1000Megabit - there is no "200Megabit" link. **Q: Cat 6 supposed to have 10Gbps but the spec here shares only 1 Gbps?** A: I've gotten solid 10Gbps on cat 5e, just depends on length and environment **Q: Does this cable work well hooking a amazon fire tv to your home router?** A: Used mine from my router to LG OLED 65" UHD TV - streaming and smart features work great. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Cable *by D***S on 25 September 2026* Needed a short patch cable to connect my NAS to my router, and this does exactly what it says on the tin. The build quality is great for the price: the connectors clip in solidly, and I’m getting full gigabit speeds with zero dropouts. For those in need of a dependable wired connection, whether for gaming, streaming, or office work, this cable proves to be a worthy choice. Performance-wise, the CAT6 designation ensures that data transfer rates are up to par with modern standards. During my usage, connections were consistently stable, and the promised gigabit speeds were achieved without any hitches. The build quality is also noteworthy. The cable feels durable, and the connectors are well-fitted, ensuring a snug connection every time. The shielding on the cable is effective in reducing potential interference, which is crucial for maintaining a stable connection in environments with multiple electronic devices. This makes it suitable for both home and office setups. However, a minor area of improvement could be in the cable's flexibility. While the robust construction is appreciated for durability, it can be a tad stiff when trying to route the cable around tight corners or through cable management systems. In conclusion, the Amazon Basics RJ45 CAT6 Gigabit Ethernet LAN Cable offers solid performance and build quality, making it a great choice for most wired connectivity needs. While its rigidity might pose a slight challenge in specific setups, its overall reliability and performance make it a product deserving of a 4-star rating. If you're looking for a cost-effective solution to your Ethernet needs, this cable should be on your shortlist. ## Frequently Bought Together - Amazon Basics RJ45 Cat 6 Ethernet Patch Cable, 1Gpbs Transfer Speed, Gold-Plated Connectors, 3 Foot for PC, TV, Tablet, Router, Printer, Black - TP-Link TL-SG105, 5 Port Gigabit Unmanaged Ethernet Switch, Network Hub, Ethernet Splitter, Plug & Play, Fanless Metal Design, Shielded Ports, Traffic Optimization,Navy Blue --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.uy/products/48183452-amazon-basics-cat-6-ethernet-cable-rj45-gold-plated-1](https://www.desertcart.uy/products/48183452-amazon-basics-cat-6-ethernet-cable-rj45-gold-plated-1) --- *Product available on Desertcart Uruguay* *Store origin: UY* *Last updated: 2026-10-08*
