The leather wheel I feel will wear out quick but I will be buying the compound wheel that they have for the machine. These really are the best wet stone sharpening machines, even supplied with some plasters ready for when you cut yourself. It used to take me a couple of hours to sharpen all my chisels and plane blades but this can now be done in around 20 minutes to very nearly the same level of sharpness - distinct lack of hair on my arms to show for it !
