Acer Predator XB271HUAbmiprz 27-inch WQHD Gaming Monitor - (TN Panel, G-Sync, 165Hz (OC), 1ms, ZeroFrame, DP, HDMI, USB hub, Height adjustable stand, Black)

Pre-ordered for £437.58 on 1st Oct and received it on 5th Nov. Made a HUGE jump from a 19'' 1440x900 60Hz 5ms Asus monitor which I now have as a 2nd monitor but rarely use it besides looking at the chat when I do the odd streaming, I tend to not use because it just feels terrible now that I have this mean beast! The best way I can put is to ask yourself if you've ever played a game below 30fps because that's how a 60Hz monitor now feels! Literally it's like 165Hz is 60fps and 60Hz is 30fps, NIGHT and DAY difference seriously I cannot try to put it out more than this. This monitor is sharper than all 4K TVs except 40'' 4K panels (110.15 PPI*) which have a really minimal 1.36 *Pixel Per Inch difference....My 48'' 4K UHDTV = 91.79 PPI; 27'' 1440p monitor = 108.79 PPI ! The 27'' 1440p 165Hz + 1ms + G-sync package is probably the best available right now, the graphics look amazing, everything moves as soon as it should and it's really buttery smooth with no screen tearing at all! The non Definitive Edition of Sleeping Dogs on ULTRA was a truly awesome experience with this monitor even though I didn't get the 165fps to match the refresh rate it still felt amazing despite the fact of having to OC my GTX 1070 to always get above 60fps as it sometimes dipped to 50fps. Really recommend this if you play CSGO as getting flickshots feels GODLIKE. The only minor problems I've had: - My desk is just under 20 inches/50.8cm wide and the monitor's stand from front to back is roughly 10.5 inches/26.7cm (the rubber feet at the back aren't right under the edge you can save yourself 2cm by pushing it further like I did) which makes my regular sized Steelseries Qck Mass mousepad (32x28cm) overlap the edge of the stand which makes the top left corner of it unusable so you might want to measure your desk and make sure it's at least 21.5 inches wide if you use a mousepad with the same width as mine. - Being a higher resolution you get stunning quality graphics etc. the downside is facebook videos and probably anything below 1080p will look like minecraft. Overall it's a perfect monitor and I'm super happy with it and saving almost £100 by pre-ordering it. Approved by a Global Elite who wrecks silvers on a daily basis. Edit: The whole TN panel has bad viewing angles is just silly, no one should care about this because you spend most if not all of the time just sitting infront of it!

As the title suggests I received this monitor in unacceptable condition. For this price you would expect the monitor to undergo some kind of quality control. My one arrived with dead pixels on the screen. Perhaps the manufacturer relys on people not noticing these things. I'll send it back and consider if I want to try a replacement or not.. I will update this review if I do buy another. Update. Having spent more time with the monitor it appears to have some bad ips glow on the corners. The bottom right is the worst but all 4 corners are affected. Colours also appear inconsistent for example on the white screen it seem to appear yellowish towards the left. I wouldn't tolerate this on a monitor half the price I paid for this. I really do not think I will go for a replacement monitor now. This is should have been picked up during QC I'd acer actually does this. It also has the 'corruption flashes' as mentioned by another reviewer of this product. I previously owned the bl3201pt monitor which had this problem. The model I received was manufactured in september 2016 so it hard to believe the quality of the monitor would suffer so much on up to date models.

I bought this mainly for gaming as I finally have a rig that can handle 4k in high end settings. In my view a 32 inch screen is the minimum size screen to really appreciate 4k sat at a desk. 27 inch to me just doesn't make much sense above 1440p. Went for this as the cost has come right down and is really competitive, I like playing strategy and RPG games more than FPS games so a 16:9 screen ratio is arguably a better choice than a 21:9. The image quality is stunning! Best monitor I've ever used. Colours are amazing and vibrant, you really will not be disappointed here. Gsync also makes a lot of sense for 4k games on a monitor like this, even when the frame rates drop below 60FPS the playback is always buttery smooth. In blacked out scenes there is a noticeable amount of IPS glow, this gets worse when you view at an angle but its more of a minor annoyance and does not affect picture quality at all as the contrast is great. Watched several episodes of the Expanse which has many dark space scenes in and it wasn't noticeable. Just to cover there was no backlight bleed or other defects that I could notice on this monitor. Though through other reviews i get the impression Acers QC is not great so always check. Considering that this is the only 32 inch, 4k G sync enabled monitor on the market right now it is very annoying that it has the older Display port 1.2 and HDMI 1.4 standards. Display port is limited to 60hz at 4k so even if the monitor panel could be overclocked it wouldn't be able to get a signal bigger than 60hz anyway. Also HDMI 4k is limited to 30hz. Personally I can live with 60hz though perfectly good for the games I play and enjoy. However my main beef with this thing is that it is not HDCP 2.2 enabled so you CANNOT WATCH ANY UHD CONTENT!!! Of course other than unencryped 4k youtube content that is, that plays perfectly. So yeah if you want to watch UHD Netflix, Amazon or if you plan to get that expensive Panasonic UHD blueray drive and watch UHD bluerays. Do not buy this monitor! That being said 1080p HDCP content does work and it is still a great picture. Still I knew all this and still bought it anyway as primarily its for playing games at 4k. Summary: At the end of the day if you want a 32 inch 4k gaming monitor with Gsync and value picture quality over super high refresh rates this is the only one on the market at the moment and it is excellent. However if you want to use this as an all rounder, play UHD content on your PC, or plug in a UHD blue ray player or one of the next gen 4k games consoles. Forget it look elsewhere.

This monitor is fantastic, G-sync really helps you get more from your GPU. Before I'd try and make sure it didn't drop below 60fps but now I found I could up a lot of the settings and as long as it doesn't dip below 40fps you really can't tell the difference. Images are really crisp and colours are great, I was expecting them to be washed out with it being a TN panel but was pleasantly surprised. I've not changed much in the settings apart from knocking the brightness down a little and have left all the extras like dark boost and dynamic contrast off as I found they didn't help. Build quality is good and I only have a little bit of backlight bleed down each side but you only notice it if you're looking for it. The stand is nice too, it's only let down by the speakers which are really, really poor but I always use a headset when gaming so it's not a big issue for me. If you want a good 4K gaming monitor and own a GTX 980ti or above, this monitor is perfect. I only have a GTX 970 and can get 1440p out of most games on medium settings but I'll be looking to upgrade when they announce the next wave of Nvidia GPU's I also connected up my PS4 which looked really nice, I was a little disappointed that it doesn't automatically switch inputs from DP to HDMI but again it's no deal breaker. I have been using a 1080p60 TV as a monitor since I built my first PC in 2016 and, with some money to spare, I decided it was time for an upgrade. I have limited space where I'm living and two screens are not an option for me at the moment. I play video games (generally story-driven, single player games), watch movies and TV shows and use my computer for some work also. After considering my options between a 2K144 monitor or a 4K60 monitor, I decided the 4K60 monitor was the best fit for me. I also wanted GSync and a good response time, so this 32 inch Acer Predator model was what I decided to go with. There isn't really much to say in regards picture quality. Everything looks fantastic, though you need to be within a metre or two of your screen to really appreciate the jump from 1080p to 4K. I like the design of the device too. It has some "gamer" aesthetics going on, but it's not too obnoxious in that regard and the bezel is minimal for such a large screen. The stand is easy to use and sturdy. There is one flaw with the device that has been noted in many of the other reviews. Once in a while there is some kind of error that causes the picture in a small portion of the screen to be briefly corrupted. In my experience, this is very occasional. Maybe once in five hours of use or so (though I haven't measured this). It also lasts for such a short time that it's just long enough to notice and not enough to really distract. It may be an issue in fast paced competitive games, but without experiencing that for myself I can't be sure. It also seems like some individual devices are affected more than others, based on the reviews here. I have personally found this issue unobtrusive but your mileage may vary. I would recommend this monitor to people like me, who have a mix of uses for it. For gaming only, particularly fast paced competitive gaming, a 144Hz monitor with lower resolution might be a better option. Equally there are cheaper options, without GSync and with lower response times, for those uninterested in gaming at all. For me, this monitor is a great fit for my current desktop usage.

I've had to revise this review as new information came to light. I bought this monitor at the same time as I bought a new GPU. It seemed pretty decent and had no dead pixels. But occasionally something flicked up on the screen. Just for literally one frame there would be some distortion. I wasn't sure if it was the GPU to blame, or if Windows was briefly popping up some update box or if it were the screen. Now after all this time I've gotten to the bottom of it. There was a flaw with his monitor at chip level. It can't be solved with a firmware update. Other owners have put videos on a certain video site with ultra high frame rate cameras that record the distortion so you can see it in slow motion. Acer won't replace these monitors even though they were sold with a built-in fault from day one. As per the subject of this review, I will not touch an Acer product again. This wasn't some cheap £80 monitor, it was a £700 high grade premium product. The quality and customer support of Acer is totally unacceptable.

In General the monitor is ok. A bit over priced. It would have more reasonable at the £350 - £400 mark. I warn you now though, if your looking for a quality monitor with built in speakers don't bother getting this one. The speakers are very tinny and quite. The best way I can describe them is, it sounds as though someone has their headphones turned up very loud, when your sitting next to them. In other words they are really bad. Even though I have Headphones and a separate amplifier connected, I still like to have a decent set of built in speakers on my monitor for convenience, for when I do not want to wear my headphones or have to turn on my amp. Part of me wanted to return this monitor due to the fact of the poor quality of the built in speakers, In all honesty I really don't know why they bothered putting speakers in. Overall design of the monitor is good. I just need to invest in some USB powered speakers now to compensate for the poor built in one on this monitor.

Disclaimer: at the time of this review I've only had this monitor for 2 days now so shall adjust my review if anything changes. Edit: I've now had this monitor for over a month and can confirm it is still absolutely fantastic to game on. I've gone from doing my PC gaming on a 50" TV sitting in a lounge chair to this 27" monitor on a proper desk setup. So far it has been a massive improvement and my concerns on whether it'll be a noticeable upgrade have been laid to rest. The 144mhz refresh rate is fantastic, allowing me to see people in pubg who are moving around me a lot easier than it was on the big screen with lower refresh. The upgrade to 2k from 1080p is also amazing with a lot more detail being viewable on character models, textures and everything else. Assassins Creed: Origins in 1440p w/high refresh rate compared to the 1080p 60fps is a huge leap in terms of visuals (and I'd already said that ACO in 1080p was the most visually stunning game I'd played this year so that's really saying something). Even Overwatch which I didn't expect to see much difference graphically had a big quality improvement from the characters looking sharper and richer coloured skins, strangely it seemed to give a sense of scale for each character when stood near taller/shorter characters but that's possibly just in my head. My system for comparison is AMD Ryzen 1500x CPU, GTX 1080 GPU, 16gb DDR4 3000mhz RAM on a SSD. Unlike other reviewers who've had issues with dead pixels on multiple replacements, either my display has arrived perfectly or I'm not as fussy as them but I cannot see a single one. The built in speakers are pretty feeble but are fine for someone like me who is between speakers/headsets right now and do the job to a decent level, example being that when I'm in pubg I can still discern from what direction gun fire is coming from just not as well as when I was using my surround sound (well, duh!). Realistically though, anyone who is spending this much money on a monitor along with the PC to get the most out of it is probably not going to be using the built in speakers for anything other than a stop gap to something dedicated. I would certainly recommend this monitor to anyone looking to upgrade from 1080p/24" screen however as it's the only 2k/144mhz refresh/27" screen I've used I can't comment on it's qualities in comparison to other models/brands.

Cherchant au départ un écran 34" UWQHD je me suis "rabattu" sur cet écran qui bénéficiait de statistiques quasiment aussi bonnes pour 50% moins cher ! Alors soit la diagonale n'est pas la même et la dalle est TN, mais ces détails s'oublient vite une fois en jeu, La gsync et les 165HZ en OC sont tout bonnement impressionnants pour moi qui vient d'un UWHD 29" 60Hz. Les jeux sont d'une fluidité parfaite et le gsync empêche toute déchirure de l'écran. Pour les fps compétitifs c'est tout bonnement idéal. Seuls petits points négatifs cependant, la colorimétrie de base qui n'est vraiment pas idéale et les réglages qui vous prendront une bonne petite demie heure...Même après cela les couleurs restent assez ternes comparé à une dalle IPS, mais là n'est pas le but quand on passe sur une dalle TN. Pour finir, aucun pixel mort sur ma dalle et au bout de quelques jours aucun changement significatifs tout est OK ! Je vous le conseille, ce moniteur est un monstre.

This product is for people who have a decent gaming PC, The high refresh rate of this monitor means that you need a good GPU to go along with it. It’s about $150.00 extra from where I am from, but Indian prices are generally more than the rest of the world. It’s a good monitor if your PC can support it .

Ho avuto questo monitor per ormai circa 2 settimane, ed e' semplicemente fantastico. I 144hz sono un must per chiunque voglia giocare seriamente e con fluidita', e la risoluzione di 1440p semplicemente migliora l'esperienza quel tanto in piu' da renderla perfetta. I colori sono ottimi per un TN, anche se vanno settati un po', e l'immagine si vede perfettamente con colori vividi anche quando il monitor viene visto ad un angolo orizzontale. Il monitor e' robusto e ben fatto, e la base ha parti fatte in metallo. Lo consiglio a, come ho detto prima, chiunque voglia giocare seriamente e voglia avere quel boost di risoluzione che rende il tutto piu' bello da vedere.

Relativement content de mon achat : Sur les defauts résultant d'acer et de leur contrôle qualité dégueulasse : un peu de Back Light bleeding sur le bord, spécialement que le côté haut droit mais rien de trop méchant (sans doute résolu en démontant le panneau pour qu'il y ait moins de pression mais vue le prix...) Pour le reste rien à dire, ayant déjà un Eizo 2421 en dalle VA, la seul chose à regretter est la profondeur de noir et IPS Glow mais en dehors, l'image est superbe et à priori les couleurs fidèles, le 4k qui est un gros plus et surtout le GSync qui est gage de fluidité dans les jeux surtout avec la 4k qui atomise les performances

E' da un mese che ho acquistato questo monitor e volevo testarlo prima di scrivere una recensione. Esteticamente è molto bello, forse troppa plastica, ma il suo rosso piedistallo in metallo pressofuso (che sembra un "boomerang tecnologico") gli conferisce molta stabilità. Ottimo e abbastanza scorrevole il sistema di regolazione in altezza dello schermo. Molto pratica l'apertura nello stelo centrale, che funge da passa cavi. Il pannello è privo di ogni IPS glow e l'illuminazione è uniforme. All'accensione, anche senza alcuna taratura, il colore (anche il bianco) è abbastanza caldo. I colori sono molto fedeli. Forse il nero non è profondissimo. I caratteri su schermo, anche i più piccoli su una pagina internet, sono molto nitidi. Non presenta effetto scia durante lo scrolling delle pagine internet. L'audio derivato dalle casse interne è sufficiente per essere utilizzato per i suoni di sistema, se volete ascoltare musica o qualche film, è consigliabile utilizzare delle casse esterne. Con i giochi è perfetto: anche se sulla carta è un 4 ms., non si avverte l'effetto scia delle immagini in movimento. I colori sono molto vivaci nonostante il pannello semi opaco. Il G-Sync si comporta molto bene (l'ho collegato alla mia GTX 760) anche alla risoluzione 4K. Avevo solo un problema, che ho letto in giro sui forum su internet che affligge questo monitor: il flickering di una sezione del display per una frazione di secondo (al mio capitava nella metà di destra). Ho pensato, dunque, che fosse a causa del mio vecchio cavo DisplayPort, infatti era così! L'ho sostituito con un altro acquistato qui su Amazon e il problema sembra risolto! Posso concludere che è un ottimo monitor e ne sono pienamente soddisfatto!
