I don’t have all those fancy tools but I’m planning to mark out the area, and then drill multiple holes to the correct depth, then finish off with a chisel. Wish you the best!

I ordered this for a closet door. Since the door was a slab, I was starting from scratch. Be aware that this works best in a solid core door. You can install it into a hollow core door but will end up limiting the strength of the pull and door. It takes time and a lot of measuring to cut a fresh door to install this. It isn't hard just very time consuming. When doon right it will look amazing, when done poorly it will look terrible and many not be repairable without replacing the door.
