Review: A Sketchbook that Inspires Sketching and Adventure - This is a great sketchbook! The B6 size is perfect as it's smaller than an A5 (5.5"×8.5") yet bigger than a typical pocket size (3.75" × 5.5"). This gives the handroom needed to get a good feel for the layout of the sketch. The paper is thick, a nice shade of light cream and smooth with a slight tooth for gripping medium. A light wash of color will give slight to moderate buckling. A moderate wash like what I've done in the attached pic will give noticable buckling but nothing to prevent one from utilizing the back ( if you don't mind a bit of ripple). There was no bleed through of the watercolor, fineliner or brush pen that I used on the Test page, but some faint shadowing. I love the textured cover, the back pocket and the elastic band as these details give a high-end craftsmanship feel! Overall I'm impressed and would love to purchase this again as well as try the larger size model. Great product for travel, journaling, thumbnailing and sketching! Kudos must be given to the cover - It's the Goldie Locks of covers; not too hard or too soft, giving great portability and durability. Top Pick in my book. Would highly recommend this sketchbook!
Review: This sketchbook has a wonderfully textured PU Lether cover that is heavy enough to ... - I have been a professional artist for more than 30 years and recently purchased ZenART Supplies’ sketchbook. This was not the first thing I've purchased from this online company and, as usual, I am more than impressed with the quality for the price. This sketchbook has a wonderfully textured PU Lether cover that is heavy enough to protect the pages within. The playful spots that dot the cover and the three exposed sides make the whole process of carrying and using the sketchbook even more fun. Now, we come to the most important part of a sketchbook, the paper. This paper is heavy, 120 gsm, and a light cream that did not affect my work at all. I made a sketch with graphite and loved the way the pencil slid across the smooth paper. It erased really well and I was able to draw and erase (with a rubber eraser) over and over with no damage to the paper. Then I tried a variety of Micron pens, a Prismacolor marker, Sharpies, gel pens and colored ink pens. While I had some bleed through with the Prismacolor marker, it was a brush style marker - I used the big end - and the color was Brick Red. I expected the saturation of ink would leave something behind. It doesn’t matter - everything else I tried worked fine. Including watercolor pencils. I sketched a simple idea of a vase and orchids and covered the paper with watercolor pencils. Then I used a wet, thirsty brush and created watercolor washes from them. The paper did not bleed through. The pages curled a little on the corners but I was able to gently turn them back down. This sketchbook comes with two ribbons to mark your place and a back envelope perfect to hold reference photos. In addition to the sketchbook, I've purchased ZenART Supplies’ bullet journal - that I absolutely love - their Oil/Acrylic brushes and their Infinity Oil Paints. I will keep coming back to ZenART Supplies for my art supply needs. They offer exceptional quality for a great value. Oh, and I like the fact that a portion of my purchase goes to Art in All of Us (AiA), a UNICEF partner whose focus is to bring art to children around the world in an effort for them to share their experiences and come to understand each other.

This is a great sketchbook! The B6 size is perfect as it's smaller than an A5 (5.5"×8.5") yet bigger than a typical pocket size (3.75" × 5.5"). This gives the handroom needed to get a good feel for the layout of the sketch. The paper is thick, a nice shade of light cream and smooth with a slight tooth for gripping medium. This book is just wonderful. the paper is just thick enough that ink doesnt bleed through (using caligraphic brush tips) — It will bleed though using alcohol marker though (Copic or even heavy prisma color use). The book folds flat easily, so you can actually use the spread without the thing folding back shut all the time or fighting to hold it open. OH! AND. (I loved this.) It's actually SEWN together. — not stapled, or glued. This is a really well made sketchbook. I do wish there was a variation that had some toothier paper for pastel or watercolor. The paper used is great. It's adequate for ink and other drawing media but it's quite smooth. Again, this is not a complaint, just my preference. The cover is tough, customizable (as in you can draw on it easily enough...it'll take just about any media) and flexible. Overall, its an unassuming, pocket-size (think cargo shorts or back pocket) sketchbook that has sixty (yes 60) pages, that won't fall apart on you. The packaging is more than most sketchbook manufacturers provide. The book itself had a band of heavy paper/cardboard wrapped around it, and the entire thing was covered in a shrink wrap of some sort — the packaging was adequately protecting the book, which, as previously stated, is really more than most companies do in shipping their sketchbooks. For the price and sheer quality, I'm switching from my usual order to these. They're easily half the price of what I usually get and they're bigger, at the same or better quality. Easy choice.
