I actually bought one and still since 1996, it is in perfect legible, original condition, never bled at all even. That said, I believe the smallest 005 pen would work perfectly for this purpose. However, I'm not sure if these are as waterproof and archival as the incredle pens used on my rice charm but I have no clue what that pen was back then.
