Simple, affordable way to create an automatic watering system without buying a full unit
First off, installation was straightforward. The included drill bit made it easy to convert a standard bucket into an automatic watering system. Once everything was tightened properly, the cups created a solid seal and started working right away. These types of systems are designed to automatically refill the cups as birds drink, which cuts down on daily refilling and saves a lot of time. What I really like is how much cleaner things stay compared to traditional waterers. Since the water is dispensed into small cups instead of an open container, there’s less mess from dirt, bedding, and droppings getting mixed in. My chickens and ducks figured out how to use them pretty quickly—just a few pecks and they understood the flow. The versatility is another big plus. These work well for chickens, ducks, quail, and even other small animals, so you’re not limited to just one type of poultry. The bright red color also helps attract the birds’ attention, which makes training easier.

Perfect for quail.
These work incredibly well, and are very easy to install. They hold a good amount of water, and though the plastic is fairly thin they do feel like they'll be durable enough to stand being perched on and banged into by the birds. I like that this style of watering cup doesn't require the animal to do anything to make it work, which helps eliminate a lot of the worry that they won't "figure it out", and I opted for the wingnut design so that I can use them on containers as well as a standard PVC pipe system. The only complaint I do have is if your bird gets under the cup and pushes it upward it will absolutely pour water. They are large enough that multiple quail can drink from the same cup at the same time, which means that young quail can also stand on or in it, and if they can they absolutely will. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the drill bit as well. Extremely sharp and very convenient to have the perfect size provided. Worth the purchase price, and I will probably buy additional cups from this brand in the future. Everything arrived in good shape without any damage or missing parts.

Washers and o-rings
These work well for the most part. The only draw back is that the o-rings and washers are clear and really hard to see once water is in the container if using a white bucket. They can thread crooked and cause a leak but once it is threaded correctly it works ok.

Frequent Leaks and Inconsistent Water Flow
I set up these waterer cups on a bucket system similar to typical poultry setups, but the performance has been frustrating. Although the idea of an automatic refill system is appealing, the cups do not regulate water flow consistently. Some units release too much water, causing constant dripping and wasted supply, while others barely dispense enough, requiring frequent checks to make sure the birds have access. From a technical standpoint, the sealing around the drilled holes is not reliable, which contributes to leakage over time. The included drill bit is convenient, but even with proper installation, the overall system does not maintain stable operation. In practice, this defeats the purpose of an automatic watering solution, making it hard to depend on for daily use.

Perfect for larger flocks
These cups were super easy to install in the 5 gallon buckets. They work very well and have made it so much easier and cleaner to give my chickens water. The included drill bit really helped the process along. I used 4 cups per bucket because I have larger chickens/guineas but you could easily do 5. We watched a video on how to install similar cups. I highly recommend these for anyone with chickens that need an easier way to water their flock.

Good concept but..
They’re a great concept, but my feisty flock has already broken two of these waterer attachments. How? Beats me. But they have. Climbing on them? Maybe. But the whole thing is snapped off and lost the spring attachment that allows it to fill with water. So I’ve had to replace them. Luckily it was an eight pack and I only needed four, but now with replacing two that they’ve broken I’m down to two extras, and I imagine I’ll be using them soon enough to replace more broken ones. It’s a good concept and makes filling their waterer a less frequent chore.

Good quality
The work great but recommend taking outdoors only, chickens occasionally spin them causing the waterer to drain/spill everywhere but overall good! Chickens are just always poking at everything!

Chickens pop the cups off
These cups work well; however, my chickens keep breaking them off. Once the cup is popped off, it is difficult to locate the spring that pops out (it ends up somewhere in the grass), and I have had no success reattaching the cups and springs when I do locate them.
