The bolt holding it to the sink had rusted through. Having fitted this type of tap to other sinks I was dreading fitting this one. I got this new tap and was pleasantly surprised at how well designed the fitting mechanism was and how quickly I was able to fit in on the sink without contortions under the sink or large spanners that would not fit in the small gap between the sink and the tap. I was able to hold the tap in place whilst screwing the cleverly designed nut to hold it. The tails and pipe all fitted into the cut-out of the nut, then using a screwdriver it was very easy to tighten the screws against the plate in order to obtain a permanent fix. The fitting instructions are small but adequate, worth studying to get the fitting order of the washer and fixing plate. This is a fantastic tap - works well and it really is easy to fit!
