I wanted to replace it, but was wavering over various refurbished/used options, not sure about accuracy of the descriptions. Then, one of these came up as an Amazon warehouse deal, for a very reasonable price. Finally, all my audiobooks and music library, plus a couple of dialogue-heavy movies, are back in one place, with plenty of room to spare. On this version of the Classic, unlike on my old one, the EU volume limit can be switched off by those who like to play it loud (Firmware version 2.0.5). Sound quality is excellent - pre-dates Apple's succumbing to the bass-overloaded Beats sound culture - and apparently it's less prone to freezing than the pre-2009 Classics. Yay. There are some limitations: Video formats have to be SD, but on a screen so small, HD is pointless, so that's fine. Repeat and shuffle functions are still a bit out of the way, but findable. If you don't like click wheels, this ipod isn't for you. But for my money, this is one of the best combinations of form and function Apple achieved.
