I hooked mine up to a voltmeter and was surprised to find that at a gentle spin it hit 5 volts DC, and cranking like mad, a whole 10 volts. I would have thought it to be less because in the kit it just lights one led, or runs a tiny fan. But, yeah, my battery tester says 10, which is, of course, tricky to maintain for any time at all with the tiny crank. **Q: Once assembled, can I open it again and redo the project ?** A: Yes. The assembly is modular. Many of the pieces fit together with screws that can be removed and replaced. The gears are plastic and are held to the axles via friction. Removing and replacing the gears might make them begin to slip and a few retries. Most of our slipping gears were fixed with better alignment of the pieces. The crank began to slip, and we had to glue it. Of course, glue will prevent any future rebuilds. **Q: Is it possible to see inside the dynamo, or is the casing sealed shut?** A: There is actually no casing.
