Cambridge Eleven is a growing series of original literature for 13 to 17 year-old readers. Chike grew up in Umuofi a with his mother and sisters. Before he left for Onitsha, his mother warned him never to go to the big River Niger. Chike was keen to visit the river. He requested money from his uncle, who refused. Whilst in Onitsha, he washed cars and got the money. He paid a boat fare to cross the big River Niger. Whilst on the other side, he lost track of time and missed the last boat back. Chike's breathtaking adventures began. Review: Nice book - Nice Review: Buy it - I love to read it again after many years

Compensated for poor product
Lovely story. Although, there were typographic errors in the copy I got but I was compensated when I complained. Happy with the purchase.

Read this book as a child and I read it again as an adult. Wish my nieces and nephew can get into Chinua Achebe literature.

African fiction for teenagers
An engaging story by Africa's great novelist, Chinua Achebe, originally written for his teenage sons and daughters. My Scottish grand-daughter loved it.
