Most of what I’m doing in the backcountry is simply heating water for freeze-dried meals, coffee, broth, etc., and this setup did that exceptionally well while remaining lightweight and compact.My only complaint with the pot is the measurement markings. Most of my backpacking meals called for roughly 3–6 oz of water, and the markings weren’t useful for measuring those smaller amounts. Adding markings in smaller increments—especially 2 or 4 oz increments—would make an already excellent backpacking pot even better.That’s a pretty minor complaint, though. After actually living out of this setup on a moose hunt, I’m extremely impressed. Fast, lightweight, efficient and inexpensive. My water boiled very quickly and is perfectly compatible with my MSR Pocket Rocket Deluxe. I used it at 9300 feet and it boiled water like a champ. I definitely over estimated how much fuel to bring because this pot was so efferent at thermal exchange. The lit is nice and light and lets me fit a large fuel canister inside it. The candle was easy to grab after boiling water and also acts as a lock when flipped over on the lit. The pot is made out of aluminum and is light weight. The inside was easy to clean out with the rounded edges at the bottom. I would recommend to anyone looking for a large pot for 2 people and you like the idea of the heat exchange on the bottom.
