Instead of searching for a road shifter to do the job, I decided to embrace old school aesthetic and go with friction. This little shifter is great. It ratchets down and smoothly shifts back up. No more chain grinding, just smooth shifting. The mount is nicer than other budget friction shifters too. I like how it shifts and I like how it looks.
