Lo and behold, when I plugged my new air stone into my 4 watt air pump, only half the stone bubbled, but the bubbles were great bubbles. Credit where credit is due. Now looking into the matter, the instruction manual claims that if only half the air stone works, then the problem is with the air pump not being strong enough. I guess my aforementioned air pump with a power of 4 watts was simply not enough. The details of this product recommend use with an air pump of > 4 watts. > is not >= I guess, and I can't say I didn't see this happening because I was warned. So yeah, unless your air pump power is greater than 4 watts, the air stone won't bubble completely, and it's a lowkey weird look.
