Traditional suit signs of spades, heards, diamonds, and clubs in stylized shapes are woven into the geometric designs of the Minor Arcana. This is one of their Japanese consumer decks, imported by US Games Systems Inc. This deck is a Marseilles deck with some alterations, sometimes making it more in line with Rider symbolism. Yhe Minor Arcana on the other hand eschews symbolic artwork altogether and resemble standard playing card pips with Latin suits (Swords, Clubs, Cups, Coins) generally associated with tarot. Hidden in the artwork are the French suits as well, associated with card games. (Spades, Clubs, Hearts, Diamonds) Tarot is a card game as much as it is a cartomancy tool. Both ways of using it have sisterly histories together as they were introduced into new areas throughout the world and developed alongside changes to the game. This is my favorite deck because it blurs the lines between the two purposes leading to a more meaningful experience in both.
