Unit seems well made and durable, numbers are easy to read, and the look matches the original 33 year old instrument very well. Before installation I checked its accuracy on a fully charged battery and then crossed checked with a multimeter and it was good. Included instructions are clear and easy to follow. After installation I noticed that the meter voltage read a bit lower than the battery voltage, ( by about 1/2 volt ), but that was due to the resistance in my bike's wires, my old instrument never had that kind of sensitivity when it was working right. It looks like the needle movement is dampened and that is a good thing, should help the instrument last longer by absorbing road shocks and voltage spikes. I bought the analog meter because I wanted to keep the classic bike look, a digital meter would give better accuracy and resolution, but this one is more than good enough for normal use and will give me an early indication of any electrical problems, Will just have to wait to see how it holds up over time, if it lasts 33 years like the original I will be very.
