I got the 12v DC model, it's great that it's offered in so m any voltage formats for whatever your project runs at. It's very smooth, the rod has very little resistance against the housing as it moves, so all of the electromagnetic force goes directly towards your application instead of overcoming manufacturing irregularities. I might take a half point off because the wires aren't clearly marked which is positive and which is negative. I have to guess it either does not matter, or I got lucky with my first guess.
