The volume rocker broke on my original cable. The differences are obvious the moment you receive the item. The new cable is thinner, braided, and has a straight edge plug that goes into the controller. The original cable has an L-shaped connection which I think is a little bit more comfortable. And the original cable has a nice, silicone coating that prevented snag. Although the cable is thin it does feel sturdy enough and the connection is firm, and there is no static. So far I haven't detected any difference in sound. It is also significantly longer than the first cable which can go either way for you. It gives you more room but it also gives you more cable to get tangled on. I guess if you are super tall and you have very long arms this would be very helpful.This cable is not as good as the original cables IMO but for the price they work great. The differences are nit picky, I know, and this cable will serve most people's needs.

This is a nice replacement if you are looking for one. My original cord went bad and I gave this a shot. At first when I plugged it in I noticed the sound quality seemed better and when I was in game chat my friends said I sounded much clear. The only downfall to this product is that the volume control “box” sounded like something was loose inside when I shook it. And after about 3 days of use I noticed that the sound quality would become distorted if the cord was bent or turned in a certain position. Submitted to Amazon that item was defective and they are sending me a replacement right away. Will update review if the replacement cord is better

This wire let me keep using my headset after the first wire broke. Everything works as normal

works good so far, but much thinner than stock headphone lines.

The cable is thiner than the original cable that come with the headset that was the biggest difference i could tell from the original. The cord works fine it fits in my pc and phone. I use it to watch YouTube/play video games and it does it's job. So far no complaints.
