It works
It is unfortunate that they call it a valve. There is no valve. It is just a tube that is too small for bats to fly into with their wings spread. They can crawl down it and jump out. Once they open their wings to fly, they can't get back inside. The instructions were rather vague. It appears that you just need it extended away from the house so there is nothing near the opening for the bats to climb onto and get back inside. Also, point is a little downward so that rain cannot enter the tube.

This is not a fix to the total problem of bats accessing your building.
Although the bat gate was relatively easy to install, it is not a practical solution because there are potentially many access points for bats. The gate only covers one access point out of many. I suggest leaving the job to professionals.

Description says a one-way for bats to get in and out but it’s just an open tube so we have no idea if it’s really working or not
