I decided from the reviews, this dimmer was a good replacement for my bedside light that failed. It arrived on time an hour or so ago. It is now fitted and working perfectly.I would like to add my thanks to Geoff Howard for his helpful photo, which is better than any Chinese instructions, (not included with the unit anyway )Hope this unit stands the test of time.Update.Ordered this unit in February, now June and unit has failed. It did not stand the test of time.

As usual, it was here next day, Amazon have got the delivery spot on.Bulb blew, and took the fuse, and the controller board out. As my title says there is a diagram now, but I still had a look at Geoff’s photo, just to make sure.All set up, and tentatively touched the case. Worked like a dream.

The one I received didn't work. Returned. Slightly cheaper alternative ARTIBETTER Touch Switch worked fine!

Four stars because it works and is cheap but there is no instruction or guide to the wiring - it took just over a week to arrive after ordering it. Another reviewer (Geoff Howard) has very helpfully attached a photo that matches the wiring. I used the same connections and it works for me. My previous touch switch had different colours from this China sourced part, As a backup I ordered a UK sourced equivalent that is the same as the original to my touch lamp and that worked also, but it is a bit bulky for the base of my lamp.In case you cannot see the photograph, or Geoff's review disappears, I am including a note on the colour coding of the touch switch wires, which are: BLACK (neutral), RED (live), WHITE (switch) and YELLOW (lamp base). I am in the UK, and am on 240V. Our standard (modern) wire colour coding is: brown for live, blue for neutral. There is another for earth, but this is not used on the connection for the lamp I use. The lamp wires on mine are blue (neutral) and brown (live). You could connect the lamp directly to the mains and then the lamp is a regular, but unswitched lamp.I do not have a photo of mine, but I will document here how my touch switch wires (above) are connected. This is no guarantee, and please be very careful whenever working with live mains electricity. If you have any doubts, get someone else to help you who knows what they are doing.BLACK -> blue (neutral) from the mains input AND blue (neutral) to the lampRED -> brown (live) from the mains inputWHITE -> brown (live) to the lampYELLOW -> has a loop that connects to the metal base of the lamp

Product works OK but biggest issue is that there are no instructions or wiring diagram supplied and the color coding did not match the one I was replacing. I am an experienced electrical and electronic engineer and did manage to replace the unit in my lamp but I would not recommend this unless you are confident that you can do it safely. Big hint is that the color coding is not what you might expect.

Easy to fit into an old lamp, I did have to cut and solder the wires (and double insulate) but worked out of the boxInstructions are clear and easy to follow.

The controller in my touch lamp got destroyed when a bulb failed with a loud bang!!. Fitted this item as a replacement and lamp now works OK.Care is needed to get the correct connections to the incoming mains supply and the lamp bulb. I found that new insulated wire crimps were needed as the existing ones were virtually impossible to remove and reuse without destroying them.

Very easy to replace my old one with this ,the picture that someone had added with his review very helpful , light back to working saved £15.00 by buying this and not a new lamp.
