BDI AVION Series II 8927 in Natural Cherry

I absolutely love it :)

I bought this to replace my entertainment armoire, which wasn't big enough to hold my new 58" flat screen. The TV is mounted on BDI ARena 9972 Freestanding Flat Panel TV Mount for 40"-65" TVs, which fits behind and under the cabinet. I have my center speaker in the top center drawer. The cabinet also holds my receiver, 300-CD changer, satellite box, PS4, XBox, and WiiU. Everything fits well. It looks great. I also have to say that the back is well-designed for easy access to all of the equipment for all the wiring. With my old armoire and other cabinets I have had over the year, it's been a nightmare to hook everything up. This was a snap - lots of space for your fingers and the wires. The cabinet is very sturdy (and heavy). There are wheels on the bottom, but they basically only allow it to move forward and back - not side to side. If my son-in-law hadn't been assisting, I probably wouldn't have been able to move it. Once it's in position, you probably only need to move it in and out to get to wiring, so that's not a problem. Also, once it's in place, the wheels can be locked to prevent accidental movement. As to the price, it's a nice, sturdy piece of furniture - much nicer than other pieces I've had that were made of particle board. Well worth it. There is minimal assembly needed - attaching the metal base and the handles - but you probably want 2 people because of the weight. I highly recommend this cabinet.

I always owned very cheap entertainment units all of my life; this time around I purchased the BDI Avion 8927 Triple Wide Entertainment Center along with their Arena 9970 TV Mount. The unit was professionally installed with BDI's " White Glove" services. The build quality of this entertainment center is excellent. The finish is beautiful and the same for surfaces that are unseen. The shelves in the unit are fully adjustment and have plenty of ventilation slots to assure that your components stay cool. The shelve adjustors have rubber grommets which keep the shelves in place when adding or removing components This is a very big help. The wire management system in this entertainment center is outstanding. This center sits on a steel frame which has hidden wheels behind the four legs. This makes it a breeze to move the unit away from the wall to clean and provide periodic maintenance on your components. The back panels of the unit are very well ventilated and extremely easy to remove The special glass on the doors of this units seems to pick-up the IR signal with ease from my remote controls. The doors on this unit are dampened when you close them. This is a feature that I like. The BDI Arena 9970 TV Mount is very well made and the side to side viewing area is fully adjustable

It is a very nice cabinet and works as I expected. Doors and cabinets work great (very smooth). Unfortunately, it arrived damaged, as others warned could happen (more on that in a moment). It looks very nice, although I agree with one of the other reviewers that it is not a "fine" piece of furniture. It's not a veneer, but some type of alternative finish. Despite that, it's of much higher quality of many of the other similar cabinets offered from other companies (for less cost). I love that it arrived 90% assembled. Just had to put the legs and handles on. I also bought the very expensive 9970 Flat Panel TV Mount. It's extremely well built (like a tank) and fit nicely on the cabinet. So the package arrived and the box was fairly damaged, however the box did not appear to be punctured so I accepted shipment. After getting it opened I found that the cabinet had been dropped on the back right corner pretty hard and this damaged the coroner beyond repair. The rear cover cannot slide into that corner. There was also a dent on the top and a scratch on the front. I contacted Amazon and they offered to exchange it or provide a partial refund of the purchase price. Given the challenges of exchanging it I decided to accept the refund. Amazon was excellent to work with on this issue.

I just got my cabinet yesterday, though minimally damaged. Onecall has great service, highly recommended.. took care of issues. The furniture itself is ok.. just ok. Its got wood, and is functional, but for 1600-1700 dollars? No way. Something about it bothers me and I can't put my finger on it.. but for that price, it feels a little "cheapy". For being that expensive I would expect like "real" furniture grade quality... like something at a custom made store (e.g. ethan allen, maybe even restoration hardware). I would highly recommend anyone looking into buying a BDI cabinet definitely go check it out first at a local store, and take your time and think about it. From my understanding these are made and shipped from China.. I'm not 100% sure about that, but if it is, I don't know.. again feels a little bit cheapy. Mo

The item was damaged at shipment. I never received another one. I was billed for the item without any communication from the vendor and I had to contact them several times. Still unsure of whether my refund has been processed.
