Very responsive locking tuner and fast string changing.
I bought these for my Charvel Pro-Mod So-Cal Style 1 HH HT E and they fit perfectly fine. My brother gave me an Amazon gift card so I decided to buy these since there wasn't much guitar gear I needed, but I did want better locking tuners for this guitar. I used the two lineup plates included in the install kit which made putting these on a lot faster. The lineup plates may help, but they're not 100% fool proof so make sure you get all the tuners as straight as possible before tightening down the the hex screws on the tuners. I like how the lock work for holding the strings and it's easy to turn. The tuners are pretty accurate being a 18:1 ratio, but are stiff to move. Maybe a little WD40 may help. If you go to install these make sure you have a 10mm hex wrench otherwise you'll have to use needle nose pliers or a lock wrench which could risk damage. Keep in mind something. These tuners are design for more accurate tuning and fast restringing, they do not help at all with tuning stability. Better tuning stability can be achieved with a Graph Tech nut or using pencil lead in between your string grooves on your nut. These come in regular and staggered. If you have string tree like my guitar regular are fine, but with staggered you can usually remove the string trees. Eventually I may get some roller string trees for better stability. I bought these locking tuners after going through many different reviews. I didn't want to buy junk nor pay way too much. These IMO are the best of both worlds, quality and value at the same time. Edit, I'm glad I bought these tuners when I did. They went up in price by a good bit a couple days later. It could be the economy or world events, who knows??? IMO just get them while they're still affordable if this is something that interests you. I notice many other comparable quality brands tend to cost a good bit more not offering enough to justify the price. These at least are still within a reasonable realm of value and quality.

Hipshot quality
Great tuners from Hipshot. Easy to install and work perfectly! Hipshot quality at it's best!

High Quality
These replaced some sketchy Sperzel tuners on a tele style guitar. The Hipshots are great. Smooth and accurate, and they hold tune well. The universal mounting plate makes installation easy. Just make sure your headstock is drilled for 10mm holes.

Great looking, easy install
Very cool looking tuners. Hip shot exclusive no drill system blends in perfectly while makeing installation a breeze and retaining the original value and profile of the headstock. I found no slop in the tuners and they hold the string in tune well.

These are now my "go to" tuners. 18:1, staggered, AND locking!
Bought these for a Dean NashVegas Hum Hum that had some tuning issues. Found that the "Tuner pin drill jig" I had purchased from Stewmac ($40.72) worked for the screw position needed for these tuners although this brand isn't mentioned as one of the ones it was designed for. I couldn't use the universal mounting plate included with the tuners because the head stock was too thick. And even though they are staggered, I decided to keep the string trees to help keep the string angle as consistent as possible. One of the problems with this guitar is the short distance between the nut and the low E string tuning post (common on six to a side guitars). But these tuners are smooth as silk and no "slop" in them. They may be out there but these are the only reasonably priced 18:1 ratio, staggered, locking tuners I could find. And the open gears look very cool and I like that I can use a light machine oil right on the gears (3-in-1 oil, etc.). And $40 seems like a lot for a jig but it's saved my butt and made my life easier many times. These are great tuners!

Best locking tuners on the market.
I replace the tuners on almost all of my guitars with locking tuners. Hipshot open gear tuners are my favorite. They're smooth and stable and the open gears look cool. But the main reason I use hipshot, is for the universal mounting plate. I love that I don't have to alter the headstock no matter what type of tuners were originally on it. It makes installation take slightly longer than a normal string change. Hipshot makes high quality gear.

these are very heavy machines.
I put these on a telecaster that has a decent weight to it, but these machines are so heavy that it actually caused neck dive on the guitar. I love that you can mount them with stability because of the metal plates that hold the machines in place without requiring any drilling. the weight is a problem on this guitar. Perhaps a Les Paul would provide enough counter balance for it not to make a difference. That being said they work brilliantly, and they look very sharp.

Hipshots forever
Look no further for tuners if these fit your guitar. I used them on a no name telecaster neck and they fit great. They turn well, they stay in tune forever, they come with a neat little line-up tray to help keep them perpendicular while installing them. You’re paying a little more but I can’t find any fault in their performance, so good value. Will definitely buy them again for next guitar that needs tuners.

Hipshot Grip-Lock 6 inline Staggered Locking Tuners Great quality locking tuners, i fitted these to my squier and personally this would fit any squier that has the modern style tuners already in place. These were a massive upgrade to the stock one that when i was tuning i would make a slight adjustment and nothing would actually happen tuning wise, With Hipshot the slightest movement and i get what im after it more precise. The open style looks great i wasn't really sure before purchasing and then i bought a PRS with the open locking tuners and liked them alot so these while not as good looking as the PRS however, they still look amazing personally. what made these stand out the most is the fact i don't need to drill any holes into the head stock as they come with the mounted plate so if i sell the guitar on i could still reuse the original tuners without adding extra holes. value wise these were cheaper than some alternative and for what i paid for them i would easily say these are a bargain. Overall restringing is now quicker and easier to do saving time, These would fit any squier with the modern tuners installed, easy to install no need to drill extra holes, quality was just perfect. Would happily buy again for my ESP and an old fender.

These are great pieces of very good quality. Too bad they don't fit my guitar neck.

I like these tuners a lot but can't afford to buy them as often as I would like. I particularly love the mounting system.

These look good and are silky smooth to turn. I've had these on a partscaster tele for 2 years now and they are as good as the day I put them on.
