After going through dozens of dirt pedals, I found the PERFECT metal pedal
I went through most of Wamplers lineup, Sovereign, Triple Wreck, Dracarys, Pinnacle, which are all "boutique" distortion pedals that are $200+. None of them were truly superb. Ive had a few Boss distortion pedals, and played on numerous other boutique distortion pedals, and have RARELY been wowed. The Revv G3 distortion pedal is one of the only boutique pedals Ive tried that really did amaze me (the other being Friedman BE-OD.) This thing is absolutely incredible, the tone is superb, very punchy and tight palm muted crunch and it outputs a LOT of gain. Its definitely a pedal for metal genres, but it still sounds good with gain dialed down. It has a responsive EQ, and 3 voicing options (Blue, Red, and N/A) which give it a TON of flexibility. I cant recommend this pedal enough, its the best metal pedal Ive ever used, and second best distortion pedal in general Ive used (BE-OD wins that by a tiny bit). Its definitely worth the boutique price tag of $230. If you mainly play classic rock or other genres, this pedal will still sound good but there are better options. For metal players though, this is as good as it gets, and thats coming from a tone connoisseur whos gone through dozens of dirt pedals.

Metal or classic rock???
Sure I guess this will do metal, but I wouldn't know, I play Classic Rock for a living. The only guitar player in a pro cover band, I need to cover everything and jump around quickly. I use a digital pedalboard amplifier (Quilter Superblock) so all my pedals have to be amp-like and qualify for space on my pedalboard. I've been looking for just the right pedal to bridge THAT ELUSIVE GAP BETWEEN DISTORTION AND OVERDRIVE for a long time, so I took a chance on the G3 rather than the G2. This was a game changing decision. The G3 was absolutely the pedal that sounds like a driven amplifier AND STACKS BEAUTIFULLY with my low and mid OD pedals. I can now cover everything I need with FEWER PEDALS on my board. I liked it so much, I bought another one!! One is set to "off" with the drive around 8 o'clock and the other to "blue" with the gain around 10 o'clock. Putting them side by side it's easy to switch boxes with one stomp, and having my lo/mid ODs in front adds a volume boost and harmonic complexity to either tone for unbelievable versatility. I'm actually contemplating a G2 to replace my lo/mid ODs!?!?!?! I'll never have any need for a G4 because when I need to breath fire I just reach down and flip one or the other G to "red". Used this way there is no "noise" issue, as reported by others.

Worth the Coin
I am a dirt pedal junky. Iโve tried quite a few. This is the best. Lots of times I will stack pedals to really get that saturated, compressed tone, but with the Revv G3, thereโs no need to stack at all. This beast is incredibly amp-like in its sound and especially the feel. It has a satisfying midrange that really gives you that chunk and chug. The aggression switch lets you go from gritty rhythm up through liquid shred leads. An incredible pedal that is worth the extra coin.

METAL
This thing is amazing. I can't do this thing any more justice than Ola Englund, so if you haven't seen his YouTube review watch it. The distortion is amazing. With all the knobs and settings I can dial in heavy distortion or back off well. I use it for heavy stuff to be fair and it scratches that itch. This makes me want to shell out for a REVV amp... This is hands down the best distortion pedal I've purchased to date for chugging. It sounds good too when you put the Ibanez Tube Screamer before it and give it a boost. The price put me off at first but it's worth every penny now that it's on my pedal board. The only thing I imagine that can drag this off my pedal board is if I actually shell out for their amp.

Revv knocked it out of the park
It's the best distortion pedal that's I've ever used. Just for reference I own countless pedals, tube amps from Engl, Marshall and have used modellers like Helix to QC to Boss and much more. Been playing 20+ years mainly rock and metal. Doesn't mean you have to take my word for it. Give it a go if you can. But it's a safe blind buy. It's the best distortion pedal I've come across so far and I do not make that statement lightly being the semi-snob that I am. Well done Revv

Adds versatility to your sound
Itโs adequate for a crunch and some lead โฆ it definitely lacks the โchugโ but solid for punk rock, rock and blues. Open Chords sound pretty good on it as well โฆ I still prefer metal zone over it but it did add versatility to my sound โฆ although I expected more from it based on ratings and reviews.

The only distortion pedal ๐ค
Excellent tone for extended range guitars like baritone 6 string, 7 string and 8 string. Has a very tight tone with lows and when you open up on the neck there is great presence. Its simply amazing..Though im sure it sounds great with a standard 6 string this baby is one of the best options for your up and coming dgent god :)
