I love this product. I have asian black hair that is turning gray in areas. Asian hair is coarse already so I don't notice if it makes your hair coarse. This brand covers the gray hair only, it does not lift and apply color to dark hair. It only colors the hair if it is lighter than the color you use, so it gives me a beautiful highlight look without altering the rest of my black hair. I used to use the blue black or oriental black, but since the formula has changed it really did make my scalp itch, a lot. I failed to do the skin test before using it since I have used this brand before without any problems at all until the formula changed. There was no notification that the formula had changed, just the packaging was different. I liked the brand so much before that I thought I should try it again in a different color and I'm glad I did, as there was no problem with the scalp itching. With the blue black and oriental black I found that I had to use a towel to cover my pillow until at least 2 washings because it would come off on my pillow cases, old or new formula. Also, with the black colors I found the need to use vinyl gloves with the next 2 washings as it stained my nails and cuticles. You can tell if it is the old formula(if you can find any) because of the much smaller box size and the small separate measuring cup that comes in the box. The new formula has a bigger box and the measuring device is the clear thing that is part of the packaging. If you have never used this product, do the skin test, as you would any new hair product that you have never used before.

Actually this was my first time every hearing of this type of product and I will be honest when u use on blavk to dark brown gair, you don't really have to much faith in some color products but to my freakin surprise it covered, it colored and left my hair smiling (shiny) lol. I dunno, if you like the chemical smells that mostdyes have then stick with most dyes, but if you want a color that isnt going to fade, makes hair look healthier, wont dye your scalp for days, and just super easy to use then I promise this is what you should try. And check out how cheap they sell these, im really glad I tried it

Bought these for the wife. They work well. Just like normal hair dye you would buy over the counter. Pleased with the product.

Great color

I've been using this hair color for a long time. This product is safe to use on the scalp, because water is the main ingredient to mix with the Bigen powder. It's not harsh for my hair strands and skin. I'm very glad that somebody taught of inventing this product. Besides all I mentioned, it's the cheapest hair color I've ever used with no doubts of drying my hair strands. I will never go back to those hair colors I've been using before which dried and ruined my hair and irritated my skin. I'm sure that anybody who tries to use this hair color will be glad to purchase this again and again.

I have been using Bigen for many years. I know over 20 years. It's simple. Just add water and you use how much you need. You don't have to use all. Some weeks I just want to top up the grays at the hairline, so I just mix a bit and apply with a small brush. I use a small brush that came with another hair color. Perfect for touch ups.
