Perfect!
I had some files on an old laptop which would no longer turn on. I knew it was on its way out so I carefully backed up everything on it. Or so I thought. Naturally I missed the most important ones. So this was ideal - and it worked brilliantly. Unscrew your old laptop, take out the hard drive, slot it into this enclosure, connect it to a working PC and it works just like a normal external hard drive - Windows recognises it as just another external drive and you can access and transfer your files using drag and drop. The old laptop used Windows 7 and I was able to access the files on a Windows 10 laptop, it took a while to figure out where the files were but they were all there safe and sound. This was cheap, easy to use and did exactly what it promised to do. Excellent!

So Simple...
No Screws, just slide it apart and slot your drive in place, slide the cover back on and that's it! Really easy and simple. Feels pretty solid and looks nice. Also it was very inexpensive. A lot of the other more expensive ones didn't have such good reviews, that's why I chose this one and I am glad I did.

Great enclosure for the price.
Initially I thought I had a faulty enclosure due to I/o errors trying to acces the drive, it turned out my drive had a bios lock on it. After clearing that I was happy to get it formatted and working a decent speeds too. For the price the quality is good, the packaging and manufacturing is of high quality. I get the impression the painted finish might wear after time but that's picking fault with a potential issue. Installing the drive the foam pads you get need sticking to the enclosure. The thickest one on the back door that comes off and the other on the bottom of the enclosure that houses the board, it ensures no movement of the drive and provides a bit of shock protection. This isn't detailed in the instructions and I've seen people stick pads to the drive itself, making the added stability useless if you need to switch drives. The ability to slide open and swap drives so easily is a real benefit when repairing systems and recovering data. In conclusion I'd buy more at this price and I can't really pick fault with speed or durability, the cable provided is also of good quality. 5 stars.

Nice simple HDD case, but some points to note.
I wanted this to house a HDD I had removed from an old laptop, to use as a backup drive. Likes: Easy to install; good enough protection as a seldom-used drive; quite neat-looking. Dislikes: VERY poor instructions; no instructions as to what to do with the two foam pads enclosed (stick one to the floor of the case under the drive, and the other one to the underside of the top sliding cover - to ensure no vibration/physical shock etc.); no indication as to what the coloured LED indicates. Otherwise I am quite satisfied with it.

Soooo easy and fast
I use this as a boot drive for my iMac as the SSD via USB3 is actually faster than the old school spinning platters of slowness in side my Mac. Boots up in less than half the time. Very easy to assemble, just slide and click, no screws.

Won't boot a Raspberry Pi
Works fine as a standard plug & play HDD/SSD enclosure, however does not work for a bootable drive on Raspberry Pi (which it was purchased for) due to the Chipset used. If you need to boot a Pi look for an enclosure with an ASM115xx series chipset

Very nice and easy to use
really good little hard drive enclosure. Very easy to install a drive and comes with some nice foam pads to make it tight and secure. Would highly recommend.
