Susato Oriole Whistle Set

I hemmed and hawed because of the price, but once I got them I found they were worth every penny. Well-constructed, easier to play due to thumb rests, and actually cost-effective because I don't have to purchase four separate whistles! This probably doesn't make much sense as it's early, but I'm very happy with my purchase and plan to purchase Susatos in other keys! Thank you!

This was a birthday present for my wife. I was worried it wouldn't arrive on time but it got here the day before her birthday. I was happy and she was thrilled with the whistles.

I gave this to my daughter-in-law for her birthday. She seemed pleased with it.

I purchased my set of Susato whistles (Eb, D, C, and Bb) directly from the company. I was pleased with the design and feel of the higher three keys, though they have a bit more chiff that I expected whistles in this price range to have. The B-flat, however, is virtually unplayable. The bottom two notes on both registers are unstable - sounds fine if you can hit them but even with above average breath control (I've been playing whistles for quite awhile), these two notes are still unpredictable. An unpredictable musical instrument isn't very valuable to me. Sadly, the B-flat is my favorite key among all 12 keys, and I had hoped to use this whistle to harmonize with several other instruments. To this end, as a set, this does not live up to my hopes. The company acknowledged that this bore size is at the limit of playability and recommended that I go up to the M-series (more expensive) for B-flat (after I had purchased this set). So - consider buying the C, D, and/or Eb separately - you may well enjoy those three keys at this size bore. But I cannot recommend the B-flat. With the exception of the B-flat, it's a fine set. Just not worth the cost, in my estimation.

I would highly recommend this flute set to anyone! Very Pleased!

My set of whistles came much more quickly than anticipated. The sound is mellow, more like a recorder than like a traditional penny whistle.
