Great Product
I am a handyman and I typically do complete home remodels including tearing out the interior walls down to the studs on older homes, (typically homes built in 60s-70s). I have remodeled very few homes that did not have termite and/or wood ant damage in the walls. Once I tear out the walls and repair any damaged frame work, I spray this on all the frame work from top to bottom. After everything is dried, I sprinkle food grade diatomaceous earth in between the studs at the bottom plate prior to adding the insulation. One thing I have noticed is at times the termites do not eat the wood but eat the paper off of the backside of the drywall, so I spray the backside of the new drywall with this prior to installation. There is no smell with this product and it dries quickly. I find that the gallon bottle will treat about 2 normal bedrooms but I drench the framework pretty heavy and I figure the cost is worth it for lifetime protection. I use a one gallon pump sprayer to apply and I do not dilute the product. Just a fine mist does the trick. This stuff is fairly safe to use but I still wear a mask and eye protection when spraying. I feel this is a great method for the prevention of termite infestation and probably the best thing a person can do other than call a pest control specialist. I personally, treat the outside perimeter of my own home with BIOADVANCED Termite Treatment which has to be applied yearly but is easy and somewhat safe for the homeowner to do themselves and is less expensive than an exterminator. I have used several gallons of this product and it gives me security that I can pass on to my customers.

Stopped the damage!
Used this to save the side of an outbuilding I have and it worked! I had to rebuild part of a ground level wall but was unable to remove every single last piece of the wall. Soaked it in the Penashield and months later it has done the job and stabilized the wall. In spring I will be doing the same repair to the other side of the building and the first thing I'll do is order Penashield.

Nisus 30201 PenaShield Clear Wood Preservative seems like a quality product and easy to apply.
Purchased the Nisus 30201 PenaShield Clear Wood preservative to prevent future carpenter ants on pressure treated deck wood joists. Only applied recently but had good reviews and seems like a quality product. I would recommend using this.

Time will tell how well it works!
I use this one on my back deck and itโs pretty much the same as only time Iโll be able to tell how well it works. Easy to apply. Doesnโt smell bad at all.

bought to keep wood safe from carpenter ants
After an infestation of carpenter ants left major damage on my 150 year old house, I used this on areas inside soffits with bare wood to prevent a repeat performance. This and an external ant deterrent helps me sleep at night.

Will buy again
Easy to apply, will use again and easy to clean your tools using water. I applied it using a Chapin 20000 Garden Sprayer 1 Gallon Lawn - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000E28UQU. I'm not able to verify how effective it is to prevent wood damage, but I trust it is better than not using it at all - that is for internal wood structure, or external where you don't want any discoloring of the wood. I also got Zap-A-Roach Boric Acid - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LLQ4AU8 to put between the walls, on the base studs to further prevent termites. I would consider using a stronger product for external non visible wood structure, like Copper-Green - https://www.amazon.com/Green-Products-30001-Preservative-1-Gallon/dp/B00CDWRXYY but may contractor used it for internal studs at using that product it took about 4 weeks for the product to stop smelling, so that is why I started using PenaShield instead. In the end of the day galvanized metal studs seems to be the way to go for new construction....

Simple solution to termite treatment
As a dissolved mineral salt, this liquid is low or no scent, is easy to use, leaves behind no color or oil, and the residue is generally not dangerous for mammals like you or your pets. But it does kill termites and other insects and lasts indefinitely long. The exterminator we consulted recommended the borate salt spray for home use specifically because it's safe for the homeowner to apply, and because it lasts a long time (the salts absorb into porous materials like lumber). One thing to remember is that the salt solution will darken or stain wood so use with caution on wood outdoor furniture and the like.
