The surface is not glossy it has a matt finish and cutting a sandwich on the small plate caused a scratch so I suggest not cutting sandwichs on them or don't be heavy-handed when cutting food other than that they are fine and I like how the ends curl upward so it is harder for things to roll off the plates

having used for a couple of outings, it does what it's supposed to. Would have scored 5 stars if it had a glossy finish - it's actually matt and not smooth which makes us nervous about using it with tomato sauce or fruits (will update the rating when we use and if it doesn't stain). But so far, cracking set for the price.

Good, but down side is that you must not use in microwave. For camping they would be OK, but motorhome and milky drinks. Definitely not to be made in microwave otherwise you burn your hands when getting them out. Did not melt but way hot! Sturdy and lightweight they are fine and not expensive so have given these a 5 each but not what we needed, so compromised.

Great item pretty thick think the only thing that lets it down but I like it is the pattern does not meet but I like the rough look
