Does this have a wooden wick?

No wooden wick. Beautiful soft scent.. candle doesn't "puddle" wax evaporates as it burns evenly down..wax is soft and feels like cashmere!! They come well insulated in bubble wrap and paper in their own individual box...( However I did receive one candle with no wrapping or box loose in the box of ordered items.. I purchased 6 candles and will AGAIN... I must say that the wick is gentle and burns down with candle like a soy wick.. I have asthma and am not bothered by it as it produces no smoke. I think you would be pleased. I would love to send you a photo of the candle in use and snuffed out so you can see for yourself.

Does this candle come in a box to gift wrap as a present?

It did not have a separate container box, only the shipping box, but as previously mentioned would look beautiful in a gift bag (the wine bottle sized ones would be perfect).

Is the scent made from purely essential oils?

There’s many essential oils that don’t burn well in candles and since these are from a big manufacturer I doubt they’re essential oils. (I make eco-friendly & natural coconut candles and I use fragrance oils you just have to know where to get the good ones) They’re also not 100% soy wax they include paraffin because these candles don’t pool they evaporate almost immediately (paraffin 101) they’re way over priced considering they’re charging luxury prices for a very low quality candle. Paraffin is the cheapest wax there is. With that being said. They’re beautiful, smell amazing and I enjoy burning them.. when they’re a gift because I would never pay 16$ for an 11 ounce paraffin candle. Give me a coconut blend and I’ll pay that any day.
