WH-1501E (12V/150W) Wang House Halogen Lighting Transformer (Replaces WH-1601E, WH-1601E6A, and MDL Corps' 316-0002)

Probably the best thing about this transformer is that the seller included a single sheet of paper with instructions on how to test if it was functional or not. For a do it yourself-er like myself sometimes I think I have followed all of the correct steps and when something doesn't work, I presume it is because the item I purchased was faulty. That happened with the first transformer I bought (similar to this one but from a different seller). I followed all the necessary steps (or so i thought) but the track lighting system still did not work. I bought a voltage meter to check if the transformer was bad and low and behold power was going in but none was coming out. The item shipped with no instructions at all and having thought I did everything right, I sent the item back and purchased this Wang House one from a different seller. Well, the seller of this Wang House transformer included a small sheet of paper letting all of us know that most voltage detectors can not read the output of this type of transformer. It is a frequency most meters just can't read. They offer an alternative way of testing that is very simple, so before I even began to instal it did their test and sure enough this meter worked. Knowing that it was functional from the outset was comforting. I then installed this transformer, following the steps outlined on the backside of the same sheet of paper. I hooked it all up and that darn track light still did not come on. I was so frustrated but at least knew that it was not the transformer and there for was some level of installer error. Needless to say I did finally figure out what the heck I did wrong and won't go into embarrassing detail about it except to say that you can't really test to see if the fixture is working until you have put the whole thing back together (which I hadn't done when flipping the switch before). Now I realize that the previous transformer was likely not broken at all. So, this product gets 5 stars cuz it works as advertised and cuz the seller was smart enough (probably because they had received so many working transformers back to their shop) to include simple testing instructions!

I have to like it because all my lights are working and that makes my wife very happy. It's very nice that Amazon has them because it is getting very hard to find them.

After having been through several bad experiences replacing my track light transformer, this one is working flawlessly so far. Lights are much brighter than several previous transformers. Time will tell

The items received were not what is listed and are junk. The power output should be 11.5 to 12 volt A/C and this garbage I got barely puts out 6 volts. I ordered two of these things and was a waist of my money and time. $44.70 down the tube.... Unless you want 6 volt A/C don't waist your hard earned money.

It works but not as well as the original "WANG HOUSE" brand. The wang house version was pictured on the Amazon site, but I received a low quality substitute, different brand not UL approved. The dimming range is half that of the original (Amazon pic shows original), and not the full bright level as before.... I was disappointed they did not send what was pictured. This is a cheap knock off from China, but it works.
