Men's Silver Ridge Convertible Pants

Abso-freakin-lutly awesome! Seriously, these are wonderful. Totally worth the price! I work at a summer camp and most of the time there isn't a lot of time to change clothes if it's too hot or cold, so these make life soo easy. And the pant legs fold up and fit in the pockets nicely. They dry very fast, and they are lightweight and they feel nice and they're rip-stop AND they're UV protectant...AND they just look really freakin nice! Soo is definitely recommend these to anyone. Especially if you like camping/hiking.

I've used these pants on 3 backpacking trips so far and have zero complaints. They've been very comfortable. I used the zippers to convert into shorts for swimming, which was great. I'm 6', 180lbs, with 32"-33" waist and 32x32 fits perfectly. A word of caution to those of you who may be a litter thicker in the legs and rear, these are a slimmer fit may be a little snug. Otherwise, great hiking pants.

First of all, the shipping was extremely fast. I placed the order on Friday night around 11 PM, and the pants were at my door steps on Sunday before 11 AM. I was expecting a 2-workday delivery but Amazon did it over the weekend! Now about the pants. I normally buy 32W/32L pants and in most cases they hang on my hips, not at my waist. I like it that way because it gives me a little more room around my hips even though the legs are about 1" too long. These pants, however seem to be a small 32W. They actually sit at my waist. There is a little bit of elastic in the waistband, and for me this elastic is already somewhat stretched out- I feel maybe a 1/2" give when I pull on the waistband. Another thing is that recently I lost about 3 lbs, so let's hope that i'll keep it off, or else I may find these pants to be on the tight side. The legs are also narrow, but my thighs are not overly muscular so this will not be a problem. I prefer the slim look rather than bagginess in my pants anyway, and there is no restriction of leg movements. However, if you are on the other (plus) side of 32W you may find these pants a little too tightly fitting. Overall the workmanship seems to be good, no missing or unraveling stitches as reported by other reviewers, but I've only worn them for a few hours so far. I bought these pants for traveling and I think they will fit the bill very well. They are light-weight (much thinner than jeans) and will not take much room in a suitcase. The color should be good to hide some unavoidable dinginess accumulated in airplanes, airports, buses and taxis. UPDATE: After wearing these pants around the house (mostly sitting and watching TV) for two days I realized that they actually felt a little too tight around the waist when sitting. While they might've been fine for just walking around, this made them a poor choice for long air travels (flights, layovers, etc). I ordered another pair, this time 34W32L, and these look as good but feel much better; i hardly notice that i'm wearing them. I think that if Columbia made 33W size it would be perfect for me. I've returned the smaller pair. The benefit of having Amazon Prime is that the whole process was very fast and simple

I’ve used for several hikes and on all my fishing trip and has held up well, material is comfortable on my skin even in 90-degree temperatures and looks good.

I love these pants! Great quality, great style (fit is smaller than what you may be used to, particularly in the thighs) and high function. Warm in the wind, breathable in the heat, drys quickly. Truly a pant you could wear all year and will want to. The only downside is because they are tighter in the thighs, bulky items in the cargo pockets can hinder your movement and range of motion. In a perfect world there would be a version of this pant without mesh pockets so you can put your keys in them.

The pants are of lower quality compared to the same model (Columbia Men’s silver ridge) in the past. The fabric is thinner, and the waistband is of lower quality

Les deux marques proposent des produits Rando généraliste abordable. C'est un peu par hasard que je suis tombé sur la marque Columbia, d'origine américaine. Avant, j'étais plus fervent de North Face. COLUMBIA Bonne surprise, la marque ne reste pas sur ses lauriers et améliore ses modèles d'années en années, j'ai acquis leur best-seller le silver ridge en 2011 et maintenant modèle de 2014, et je vois bien les améliorations: Coupe plus droite et ajustée mais en contrepartie suppression de la poche sécurité à tirette et plus de poches genoux extensibles . Ceinture 2x plus petite. Tissu plus fin et plus léger. Attention aux tailles aussi : leur modèle M correspond désormais à un S ou 32 US (42)!!! NORTH FACE Sans être mauvaise, le pantalon de Columbia la bat presque en tout point. Le tissu n'est pas de type "maille" càd en cas de déchirure, se limite à sa case. De plus, le tissu est plus lourd. Coupe très large et cargo comme la plupart des marques (ressemble à un éléphant). Longueur de pantalon universelle càd même longueur pour toutes les tailles - S aussi long que XL - obligé de faire des ourlets. [Points+] Tissu maillé, léger et confortable Coupe droite et ajustée Améliorations d'années en années- Encore plus léger Anti UV Qualité-Prix raisonnable [Points-] Pas anti-moustique Conclusion: Un des meilleurs si pas le meilleur de cette catégorie : Pantalon convertible léger été. Le tissu est super agréable et léger à porter. Les autres grandes marques font aussi des bons pantalons et ajoutent parfois quelques accessoires ( système attache bas pantalon - tirette bas pantalon mais pas indispensable ) et se payent min 99€ sans être pour autant confortable! De plus la plupart des marques font des taille universelles et sont très larges pour convenir à tous les gabarits - Sensation de flottement si vous êtes mince. Il ne lui manque plus que l'anti-moustique pour être parfait. Si vous hésitez entre le pantalon classique et le short, préférez le convertible car en rando, il limitera le nombre de pantalon puisqu'il fait office des deux!

A dire il vero li ho conosciuti presso un centro commerciale vicino la mia abitazione. Hanno delle caratteristiche tecniche di rilievo, sono comodi perchè non fasciano eccessivamente e permettono una traspirazione ottimale. La rilevazione misure è un pò compòicata perchè ci sono due parametri da tenere in considerazione, nel mio caso sono andato a colpo sicuro perchè gia li avevo provati di persona. Ne consiglio l'acquisto ma attenzione alle misure !!
