Water Aerobics - How To Lose Weight And Tone Your Body In The Water - Kindle edition by Taylor, Jennifer. Download it once and read it on your Kindle device, PC, phones or tablets. Use features like bookmarks, note taking and highlighting while reading Water Aerobics - How To Lose Weight And Tone Your Body In The Water. Review: Really Good Beginners Guide - I am always looking for simple exercises to do that will not hurt my body. Living in Florida, swimming is an easy choice. Do to some physical ailments I need low impact exercises. This book lays out some simple exercises and tells you what type of equipment you need to do them. There are lots of pictures in the book, which I really like, as I am a visual learner. Overall this is a very good and easy to understand guide for beginners like me. Review: A nice summary of an alternative form of aerobic exercise. - This nifty little book (only 94 pages long) is a wonderful summary of the benefits of participating in Water Aerobics, the procedures involved including warming up and cooling down, with chapters on upper and lower body workouts and water aerobics for physical rehabilitation. I was a little frustrated by it, however, when I saw that it was written in such small print. There are photographs in the book which would have been nice to have been in color and there are quite a few types of water aerobics exercises that were NOT included. I think the book was a good start but it does need to be further developed. I do appreciate that it even exists, however, and promotes water type exercises for those of us who have special problems such as arthritis of our knees or other medical conditions. As the author concludes "Water aerobics provides a workout platform for everyone, regardless of their age, physical health and current fitness level.....Water aerobics is one of the few forms of exercise that effectively offers an insignificant impact on the joints....ultimately you will be taking away a tremendous amount of stress on your joints and ligaments as soon as you decide to take your workout to the pool." THIS is why I personally started participating in Water Aerobics in the first place! Additionally I have met some of the nicest people in my Water Aerobics classes. I TOTALLY agree with the author's concluding "You just can't beat the effectiveness of water aerobics as a primary form of exercise. It is a great choice for conditioning, strengthening, improving endurance and limiting the effects of physical conditions and injuries. Further, working out in the pool is fun and easy, you won't even feel like you're breaking a sweat." This is a good book I would recommend.

Great low-impact way to exercise
I have been looking into alternative exercise routines that aren't so tough on my joints. It was interesting to learn you can get as good a workout (if not better) than traditional high impact exercises. The book lists in detail all the exercises you can do, which are about as comprehensive as a full gym workout but less stress on your body. Each exercise is detailed with instructions and many include photos to illustrate the instructions. Both upper body and lower body workouts are included. There are many fun cardio exercises that I look forward to trying.

not really a weight loss book
This book is a great tool if you've never done water aerobics before. It covers the basic moves for a total body, low impact workout. It did not specifically offer weight loss exercises though.

Very Detailed & Great Pics
I have extensive low back/degenerative disc disease/arthritis and balance problems. Look at me! I'm a mess! lol I just finished this book and can't wait to get in the pool. I wish my iPad was waterproof so I could bring it with me! This book is highly recommended for newbies to water workouts, like me. The instructions are very specific and the pics really help. I recommend this book for anyone curious about water workouts. You get upper and lower body workouts, plus cardio. Exactly what's needed for a balanced exercise program. You won't regret buying this book!

A Great Way To Lose Weight
Losing weight is like an ordeal for me. I've actually tried different ways on how to do it--all to no avail, unfortunately. When I saw this Water Aerobics book on Amazon, a new surge of hope dawned on me. I must try this! The exercises given here are so great that I feel success is about to come in my weight loss battle. Although this book can be for older people, I found it to be helpful for my age as well. The photos also helped in giving motivation.

It reads like a fluff magazine article
Some reviews said the print and picture quality of this book left something to be desired. I agree 100%. But, the biggest problem I have with this book, is the lack of detail in the pictures. She describes an exercise in detail, but only offers up one photo. So, you only get to see one position of that exercise. Also, the book is repetitive and too generalized. It reads like a fluff magazine article, not a book. Water aerobics are great for you...yes, everyone knows that! I highly DON'T recommend this book. I will be donating mine and writing off the loss.

What Impressed Me The Most About Water Aerobics Was How Safe And Low Impact The Exercises Are!
Water Aerobics was a very interesting read! I’m an Ex-Personal trainer and I’d say that the book flowed in a very logical manner. What I liked about the book is how the author really focused upon how safe water aerobics is and a lot less damaging to your joints. That’s big because traditional exercises especially those where you have to run and jump can cause jarring of your joints and puts you at risk for developing problems. I also like the fact that water aerobics is a great alternative for those affected by medical conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis and so on. I learned about the different water exercise equipment. The only thing that I’d recommend to the author is to include a picture that shows the starting and ending points for all of the exercises and not just for some. Overall Water Aerobics is a fantastic primer book that will teach you the fundamentals of exercising in water to lose weight. If you’re new to water aerobics, then I recommend that you purchase this Kindle book.

What can I say... The pictures were unhelpful, the instructions were wishy washy, and I walked away feeling disappointed. There are some brilliant aqua books, but this one reads like a rough first draft. It has potential, but it missed the mark.

This book is set out clearly for a person to use by themselves or with a view to learning and understanding the processes in order to teach other people. Photographs are used to demonstrate exercises - some line drawings would be helpful. A very useful and encouraging book. I would recommend this book to help anyone who wants to get the most from their sessions in an exercise pool.
