Brasso is used for the cleaning of metal items like brass. I would not try it on an CD. Check with an electronics person who repairs CD players. Hope this helps. KM

Will this take tar off of brass?

Duraglit removes a light layer of brass each polishing. I suppose it may need to be scraped or wire brushed to remove most tar. Then it would work.
