Best lure for my finicky cat
My male cat is the epitome of fussy cats. He turns his nose up at sandwich meat, tuna, most of his canned foods and most treats I have tried to buy him. He also likes to hang out on the pool deck all day and hates to come in at night. If I rustle this bag and he knows he's getting his "pellets" though, he comes running. I am sure he'd prefer to have this as his only dry food, but I break it up and sprinkle it on as a garnish. He didn't seem to care for it moistened. I did note that if I gave him too much and failed to break it up, it must've expanded in his tummy and caused him to regurgitate. That's him being a little piggy and housing as many pellets in one sitting as he could. So long as i break them up and use it as a garnish, he is never sick. I've learned to just smash the bag with a rolling pin before I open it and voila, all nice and crushed up for him. I'm glad my little finicky man likes the really good stuff, because I want him to live forever!

We love Feline Natural products!
This is my favorite freeze dried product for meals, but with the price point is high for a small size itโs better off as a topper to boost the nutrient value of something like Friskies or Fancy Feast. The pellets are small so as a topper theyโre perfectly bite-sized. Also very easy to crush and mush in warm water or goat milk as a meal on its own. Feline Natural has an awesome blend of ingredients that provide a high protein content, and also recipes that donโt include fish. I like that they include NZ green lipped mussels for joint health. My cats LOVE mussels but I donโt like to buy whole freeze dried mussels since theyโre really expensive so to include them in these recipes is a great bonus. The list of ingredients isnโt long and everything is recognizable. Smells like meat and everything that a catโs proper meal should smell like. It isnโt over-powering or off-putting, but it isnโt appealing to humans of course. Lol. I feel confident when I feed this to my 3 cats that theyโre getting a great, nutrient-rich meal whether I feed it alone or as a topper. My female cat, Mia, who is the most sensitive, never has any digestive issues after consuming FN. On top of that, all 3 of my cats LOVE every recipe FN has to offer. Iโve never had a single problem with them eating any of the recipes. Five stars. Love it. Just wish it wasnโt so expensive but itโs understandable as to why it is. (Occasionally our local independent pet store has free 1oz samples so I like to go there and check!)

Blending the ratio recommended makes a liquid meal they love. Recommend for gravy or a liquid diet.
I understand that removing water in freeze drying means that water must be added back. I do not permit my cats to eat this dry even though supposedly it says that I could. The food would require water from someplace to become useful and therefore it could be expected that physical pellet expansion would happen on the stomach. As a careful feeder I let this expansion occur before the eating. Dry kibble needs water in much the same way it seems, but the process making that is heat which alters the structure. The meat is meal and bits of many other things. What makes this different is that the mixture is made of whole body parts and just a few things added. I followed the instructions of ratio for preparing. One cup of this freeze dried food mixed with one cup warm water. It is quizzical then that it would not be fully absorbed the way I expect. Chi la of food difficult to chew that I have to squeeze with my fingers. So the thought occurred to me that I could use a process of measuring, waiting and blending. I thought that surely it would thicken as a puree in blended form in fifteen minutes. First, my cats are puree eaters. They love puree. The one-to-one ratio does not puree. It liquifies in the blender. When I go through the process and pour this liquid in serving cups, they eat it like they have never eaten anything before. All that moisture being lapped up with their tongues, and all that food with it. Just so anyone here can know, that these cats drink it and they finish their portions with commitment within minutes. Then they do not ask me for any more food for an entire 24 hours. They are calm. Sated. They sit next to me and they are not begging. They sleep. They are really taking to this liquid, but they have dry food on free choice they nibble on. I feel like this liquid form might be good for their digestion and hydration. I am in the first few days of this strategy. It relaxes me to have calm cats. If I add less water, I would worry about their teeth chewing on raw bits. With liquid they do not have that issue. I also add dental health additive to the food water so I know they have it. My cats hopefully will continue benefiting. I did not see anyone writing another review about the liquid result from blending the recommended proportions. I do not know if a full to.e liquid diet is good or bad. That is why the thickness is "3" but they take it in enthusiastically.

Received by Mistake CAT loves it...
Wow - what to say. I feed my cat a variety of free dried and ADD tons of water with a topper of Wysong (full mineral, vitams et al) and raw organic hamburder (pre Vet background). Many on the thread meantion feeding People foods (ham so on - harmful people food) Cats have specific dietary needs. Esp TUNA which btw can cause tremendous harm to cats down the line if overfed - not just the mecury but it causes a Vitamin E deficiency - and thus "steatitis". Painful (as well high in minerals and can cause bladder stones. "as an occasional RARE treat only". a - I was sent this rather then the product I wanted and the cat loves it but the EXPENSE!!! b - Maybe as many on this thread suggest ie add it as a topper to other foods? I will have to try that!

DONT FEED DRY. Wet is fine. Good ingredients
Cat threw it up dry. Even a small portion. Rehydrated is good. Packaging needs to reflect that. Not encouraging dry feeding. If your cat goes outside after eating this and throws up you wouldnโt really know.

Better than Stella and Chewyโs for cats with urine issues
This is expensive: really expensive. You get what you pay for โ excellent, species appropriate ingredients that are transparently sourced. I use this as a topper, snack or treat. Not as a full meal. If feeding only this food it would get too expensive really fast. My cat loves Stella and chewyโs dinner morsels, but ever since he was diagnosed with urinary crystals Iโve been concerned that the S&Cโs recipe has too much bone. Cats with urine issues need low phosphorus and magnesium, but Stella & Chewyโs recipe is very high in both due to bone content. I found this alternative while reading about the best raw freeze dried foods for cats with urine issues. Itโs lower in phosphorus / bone than other freeze dried foods and still has the quality ingredients. These pellets are smaller and feel denser than other freeze dried raw cat foods Iโve tried. The size is good because itโs easier to feed a couple as a treat, and I assume the extra surface area helps rehydration go faster. The density though does slow down the rehydration process. They can stay hard for a while. My cat does like these, but seems to prefer the Stella & Chewyโs. Too bad for him, as these are better given his condition!

Very good quality product, and good to sprinkle on top of their normal food. Frequently order this and mix with the salmon variety. Highly recommended.
