This is perfect for my small business

I bought this for my employees to use up at the register and they love it and use the heck out of it! I especially like how you can place the bill on it and turn the light on and it shows you exactly where the strip should be depending on the denomination of the bill. It comes with the pen as well which is nice to use on top of checking for the strip and the water mark. I did not know that the strip is actually located inside the bill in a different location for each denomination until I started using this product. It does feel a little cheaply made but has actually held up very well over time, is accurate and extremely useful. It uses batteries or comes with an adapter to be plugged into an outlet. Is exactly as described.

i LOVE this product. its worth every penny. it takes the guesswork out of checking the bills. we use this at my work place, we used to use the detector pen or hold the bill up to the light to try to see thru it, but this gadget is a thousand times better.

It works! Easy to use and not too bulky to take with you if you are going to a cash sale transaction away from home or your own office. The only drawback is that you can only check one bill at a time, but that can take 1-2 seconds, so it's not too big of a deal.

The item itself is convenient, I have two of these exact models. The most recent unit that I purchased was defective; the tension spring for the batteries is very weak and would not hold the batteries in place, thus would not work. I was also disappointed as the second unit I purchased recently did not come with an AC adapter, forcing me to use batteries. I had no way to test if the unit would have worked with an AC adapter as I did not have one available to test it. I returned the second purchase. That said, the first unit that I purchased over a year ago is still working and has been a great asset to our business, and did come with an AC adaptor. When I ordered the second unit, I reordered via my order history so I THINK it came from the same seller and appears to be the same model. The only difference was the lack of an AC adaptor. Three stars because the first unit that we purchased worked as received and I am very happy with that purchase, while the second did not work with batteries and I am forced to return the item.

Included pen.Cons: U/V lights for seeing strip are circular and do not light up the entire bill, so you have to look closely. They light up a circular pattern on the left and right side of the bill, so the strips do not illuminate near the bottom of the bill.Overall: It works.

Nice unit for light usage and occasional usage at events and other situations. Offers 3 options to detect so can review watermarks, security strips and cotton rag paper. Can also see holograms and security features on many driver's licenses.I say light usage because it is built from plastic so a misplaced hand on top of the unit, accidental placement of a heavy object, or a fall to the ground will likely break off the light bar on top of the unit. Be aware of the unit's construction and it should do a good job.I have used it several times already. Can't say I found a bad bill, but that is a good thing to have ensured I took good cash. Only had unit for a shot time, but these have been around for a while.You can replace the detector pen if you accidentally lose it or let it dry out before it's time. The same company sells the widely used pen used for cotton rag paper detection.This unit will show holograms and other security features of Non-US bills but the security stripe detection alignment marks are designed for US bills.As a former banker, it works. Just would not put in a front line situation since is plastic.

Canadian dollars can be identified as counterfeit by the WATERMARK, which can be easily identified with the naked eye.
