I wish I could give 4 and a half stars because I really love this product and don't want to give it four stars but there are a couple of flaws. One, the lid. It is just not secure. There needs to be a latch of some kind on it. The ants (and they are very cool might I add) work together to try to lift the lid and I guess they can't but I wouldn't underestimate these guys! We ended up putting a weight on it. Even so, if it ever tipped, the lid would just easily fall off and the ants would escape. Also: I don't think the light is all that helpful. It looks cool from afar, but it doesn't help you see the ants. The best thing to do is to turn the light off and put them under a desk lamp. Okay, that's it for the negative. I bought this for my 10 year old and we are all loving it. They say you can put any ants in it, but I STRONGLY suggest you go with theirs. They provide super cool ants that are bigger than your garden variety and very active. They are worth the small cost...by far. The gel is wonderful. I can't stress enough how much you do not want to feed these guys. They are smart and active and I think they would bite if we opened up their enclosure to feed them:) Do follow their short instructions and refrigerate the ants prior to putting them into the habitat. They are truly "dormant" for a bit and you can easily pour them into their home without fear of them biting you. I have been bitten by ants years ago, and I know it doesn't hurt much, but even so...chill them out:) Even with the lid issues and the lackluster light remarks, I love this thing so much that I am giving it 5 stars. It is extremely cool. Buy it, buy it, buy it.

Never Received My Frogs , Nor Any Further Directions On How To Receive My Frogs , Everything Else Was Great , As Shown In Pictures While Ordering .

Super friendly customer service! Accidentally mixed up my tanks but gladly sent me the correct one with healthy happy frogs!

Ants lasted much longer than expected. Bought some refill gel, and ready to do it again. Small but lovely container (best ever for viewing ant activity). However, the foam lining at the top did encourage ants to attempt to chew their way out. They didn't make it, but it did concern me a bit.

This was very fascinating and the ants came live and healthy. However, once they burrowed tunnels they began to die off. The container could be bigger, it's very small. Still worth purchasing simply for the week of amazement you get.

It was really cool but half of them were dead and it lasted for a week because fungus grew and killed most of the ants. I let the surviving ones go. I got a different one and it was way better.

We were super excited about it. My 7-year-old really wanted to have one. We thought this would have been the perfect thing cuz of the lights. The gel looked super cool. We get the ants. Follow the instructions to a tee and two days later they're dead, not even a full 2 days.

Everything arrived in the Starter Kit. Including the Certificate for the 2 Dwarf Frogs. When I mailed in the Certificate, our frogs arrived timely and healthy & full of energy. We actually put them in our 10 gallon with our 2 other dwarf frogs that we got from my local pet store. It’s a species only tank. So they all get along with each other & are very active. The bigger frog is my older one. After her you’ll see our babies swimming around!
