Rolex ?
Rolex was not a factor in my choosing this watch. I literally looked at hundreds of watches prior to this purchase. I wanted reliability, automatic movement (tired of batteries), sporty/casual styling, a good solid bracelet style band & I wanted it all for under $200. After looking at all of the watches, I began to realize that almost all of the manufacturers were using Japanese movements. I even tried the so called American watch companies like Bulova. In my price point, they were all Japanese movements. So, why am I going to buy an American name & not get an American made watch? I'm not buying a name; I'm buying a watch. I finally ran across the Invicta watches & discovered they had what I was looking for in some very attractive styles & pricing. I won't go into all of the different movements & beats per hour because all that has been covered in other reviews. What I will tell you is that you can pay a lot more (3X) for exactly the same thing, but sold by a more prestigious name plate. In fact, if you want a Swiss movement you will pay even more. There is nothing wrong with Japanese movements. In fact they are quite good & accurate. I have Seiko & Citizens etc. After comparing the Invicta 9937OB to what was being offered by the competition, I couldn't turn it down. It was a little more than my original price goal, but I now know it was worth it. The pictures I found on line do not do the watch justice. In person you really see how nice this watch really is. It is substantial, both in weight & size. It is a mid size watch (43mm?) & does not look like an anchor on your wrist. It has good weight & does not feel or look cheap. The bracelet is SS & could easily be used to hold a much larger watch. It has a terrific fold over safety clasp. The bracelet style bands usually pull the hair off of my arm, but not this one. It is smooth & well finished. I had to adjust mine & found it a simple task to remove the link using the SE 7pc Watch Spring Bar Tool that I bought here on Amazon. It honestly took 5 minutes or less. Accuracy is right on the money. I set the date & time the day I received it & it has been as accurate as any quartz clock I have in the house. It even keeps time with the clock on my iPhone. I am very pleased with the Swiss Automatic SW200 movement. One tip, though, is to wind the watch 20-25 times before you start wearing it. After that your arm motion will keep it wound sufficiently to keep proper time. I guess I could go on & on about how it looks like a Rolex Submariner & all that nonsense, but I bought this watch because of the way IT looks & the features that IT offers. For the money I was not able to find anything comparable.

Really great watch
Update: 7/16/2023 So I have now owned the watch for over 1 year. I don’t wear it daily but it somewhat fills the desire to wear the submariner. I usually have it when I want a decent watch that might get beat up. It has held up great. The cyclops got a bit scratched up once, I think when I was out camping or on a boat or something. The watch has run like a champ. I have a winder that keeps it wound up and it is running at -1.2 sec/day average for the past 90 days. That is pretty great for a cheapo Rolex imitation. Anyhow, the watch is very nice if you can get over the Invicta stigma. There are some tutorials on filing off the Invicta stamp and repolishing the case but I’m not going to do that. In fact, I would gladly tell people that if they really want a solid Rolex submariner knock off with a Swiss movement that (with a little work) runs like a champ, you can’t beat this one. ——————————— I have to say, I had been an Invicta poo pooer for a while. I own a Rolex submariner and really enjoy it, and a lot of the fake Rolex submariner are just terrible to look at. But I have stopped wearing my submariner for personal reasons, and sometimes I felt pangs of longing which led to me investigating a lower priced replacement. The Invicta 9937 is actually a pretty good watch, certainly punching way above its price tag. Now, it’s not close to the level of quality and precision of the submariner, and I’ve only had it a few months, but it is very nice. The SW200-1 movement is pretty good. I don’t really like the clear case back but my kids like looking at it. The watch came to me at about +15 spd but I was able to regulate the watch down to +2 spd. I took the watch off of its bracelet and put on a nice leather band, which I alternate with a nylon Archer band. Both look nice and the watch wears great. I cannot speak to the longevity, but it is an accurate, nice wearing watch with classic design. If it can wear for a few years, it would be a steal at $169. If it stops working early, then no. The only proviso is that it will probably need regulation to really dial in the timing, if that matters to you.

Terrific Product
This is my second Invicta Diver's watch. Years ago I bought the 8926C (C, coin edge, and OB, original bezel, are the same thing according to a dealer I contacted). The 8926 and the 9937 have the same general design. Back then I compared the 8926 to my brother's Rolex Submariner. Yes, the Rolex of course is a little bit nicer, but not by all that much, and it is jewelry more than it is a time piece, since they don't keep time perfectly, and the two watches weighed about the same. There are some differences, but they are not all that noticeable after you get a foot or two away and the overall design is very close. As to the 9937, nowadays Invicta stamps its name on the side of the watch, which I could do without, but it is no big deal, and that is probably to avoid lawsuits with Rolex and other prestige manufacturers that they mimic. After 10 years or so, the 8926 was scratched up all over due to the fact that I have been hard on it (but the crystal still was perfect), and I decided to look into getting the Rolex but found that they had gone ski high in price, for just a stainless steel watch (almost $4,000 for a used one in acceptable condition, and something like $6,000 or more for a new one), and instead, I got the 9937. It is an excellent piece for the money, with an upgraded Swiss movement and a heavier band and slightly larger case than the 8926. So, it is a little bit heavier and larger than the Rolex, but only if you know would it even matter at all. It might feel a little bit heavy if you are not used to it, and to me it is just fine. If you want the Rolex look, make sure you get the coin edge bezel (the other one is scalloped, I think after an Omega design), and the bezel can scratch easily, so this one I will use more for dress or casual but not knock around. It is an automatic watch and will not keep perfect time, but only quartz or other higher tech watches do. I have an automatic watch winder for my four watches, and that is a good investment. I spent less than 4 percent of what I would have spent on a new Rolex, and this one should last for many years. It is a definite upgrade from the 8926, which I also was very happy with, and if this one wasn't available I would have gotten another 8926. If you have the money and don't mind spending it and want a piece of prestige jewelry, by all means go with the Rolex (I happen to have a Rolex dress watch that is the real deal, and they are beautiful). I am glad I decided to keep most of my money in my pocket this time, though. The only ding for Invicta (still a 5 star in my book) is that they charge for warranty work (shipping), but I can live with that. This is an excellent buy.

Great watch - Check specifications!
I recently purchased this watch after doing an "emergency" buy of its "little brother" 8926 at an airport jewelry store. I paid a lot more at retail (and in an airport) for the 8926 than I could have online...but as I say, it was an "emergency" purchase, because I had forgotten my Rolex Date-just that day and needed a watch. Not wanting to spend "Rolex" prices for my "emergency", I asked the sales person to show me a "cost-effective" automatic. I came away with the 8926. I liked the 8926, but was disheartened that it didn't have the ability to "hack" the second hand when setting the time. (Stop the second hand to synchronize with another clock precisely). This led me to researching Invicta and the 8926. That led me to finding the 9937, and its far better specification. Of course, you can pick up the 8926 for about 1/3 the cost of the 9937, so you be the judge in comparing values. For me, the hack ability, along with quite a few other differences was compelling enough for me to get the $300 version... The 9937 is a nice watch, and I'm happy with my purchase. But in researching, I came across quite a bit of what I'll call "misinformation". It seems that Invicta has changed some of the specs on this watch over the last few years, so you should check to make sure you know what you're getting. Let's start with the crystal. Numerous entries here on Amazon (be they 9937c or 9937OB) show a sapphire crystal. This is not true for the most recent versions of this watch. It is actually a "Flame Fusion" crystal, which is a combination Mineral crystal + Sapphire coating, fused together. Invicta claims this is BETTER than a sapphire crystal, and has moved to this for most of their "better" class watches. I can't speak to the validity of that claim, but can say the crystal looks great, and seems to be pretty rugged. After a week of daily wear, I have no scratches and the watch still looks perfect. Just be aware if you are not purchasing a used item, you are getting a flame-fusion crystal and NOT a sapphire crystal. Next is the movement. You'll find plenty of references to an ETA movement in the 9937, and how it is a huge improvement over the Myota movement in the 8926. Again, the most recent versions of this watch do not use ETA, but rather a Selita movement. That is where the "26 jewels" comes from. I've heard grumblings that there were problems with the original Selita movement, but those problems are supposedly corrected in this latest version 9937. Again from my perspective, I have only a week to go by, but the movement seems to wind well (no power reserve problems at all), and my 9937 is only running about 6 seconds fast/24 hrs. That's not too bad, and I'll wait to see what it's like after a month or so. In the meantime, I can live with 6sec fast a day. Oh, and yes, the Selita does allow you to "hack" and stop the second hand. Just know, whether Selita or ETA, both are an improvement over the Japanese Myota movement in the 8926 and other "lower end" Invicta automatics. The 8296 I bought has the "scalloped" bezel, while this 9937c has the coin edge. The coin edge is DEFINITELY much easier to turn, both because of the grip that the coin edge allows, as well as the bezel itself on the 9937 seems to simply move easier. "Cyclops": There is no question after reading reviews and seeing pictures of the 9937OB, that Invicta changed this on later models too. The cyclops on my 2010 9937c is most definitely NOT as strong a magnification as on the previous models. Some have suggested this might be due to the "flame-fusion" crystal as compared to sapphire on the older models. I really can't say, I can just say that on my 9937c, the magnification is about the same as the 8926. However, in comparing the two, it seems to me the dates on the 8926 are actually a little "bolder" font than on my 9937. It is actually a little harder to read the dates on my 9937c than on my 8926. Not bad enough to bother me, but enough for me to give this a 4 star rating instead of a 5. All-in-all, I'm so far very happy with the 9937c. I really don't think you can come close to finding as nice an automatic watch with all the features in the 9937 for ~$300. I was thinking of getting a Tag, and now I absolutely won't. This is a great value. I'm glad I found Invicta. I prefer automatic watches over their battery operated brethren, and have often commented that somebody needed to make a decent $100-$300 automatic for everyday use. This is the first I've seen that I actually like the watch and it's styling. And for $300 you can't beat it.

Great product, but the lower-end ones may be the one for you.
This watch is very good for 300 dollars. It resembles the Rolex Submariner very closely. It is very sturdy and heavy and I love it a lot. The band of this watch feels sturdy and heavy. It is huge! The links are big. The center links are polished which gives it a more fancier look. It is a scratch magnet if you're not careful, but you can always polish it down again. Or you can brush it down to give it a more Submariner look. When I first saw the back of this watch, it was incredible. I've never seen a Swiss automatic movement in person before, although it's through the crystal, it's beautiful! It's fun talking to my dad about the back of this watch and it's movement. I told him "You can see right there it says 26 jewels Swiss Made on the mechanism." Although on the crystal, it says Swiss Movement. That's because the movement itself is Swiss Made, but the watch itself isn't. But to me that's all the same! Swiss Made or Swiss Movement, it has a Swiss Made movement and that's all it matters for it to be Swiss to me! This watch certainly looks a lot more pricier than it is. It also keeps time very nicely, I don't know how many seconds it gains or loses because I don't care much for that stuff. All I know is that it keeps time correctly and that's all it matters. The most beautiful part of this watch in my opinion is the second hand. You can clearly see that it flows very smoothly. That's called a sweeping motion and that's what the Rolex Submariner has! My dad owns a Submariner and I compared them both together and the movements are equilibrium! To an untrained eye and to someone who does not know much of watches at all, they will surely confuse this watch with a Submariner. They look so much alike! The bezel, hands, dial, crown, diameter, etc. Everything is so the same style. This watch also uses a sapphire crystal like high end watches do. The only issue I have with this watch is that Invicta has numerous watches that have the exact same style as the 9937OB but for lesser price using cheaper materials. It's not the problem though, the problem is that people confuse my 9937 with the lower end models because they don't know about this model because they only sell the lower end ones at Costco for 50 dollars and 100 dollars. My dad came home from Costco the other night and said "You know what? You got ripped off for 300 dollars, I saw this watch on Costco for only 100 dollars." I was like WHAT DID YOU SAY? NOOO! I had to give him a deep brief explanation of how this is different because it's Swiss Automatic, it beats at 28,800 BPH, with a sweeping motion second hand, etc. etc. If you don't care about what people think of you, this watch is well worth the price. But it's not worth it if you only care for the watches looks, you might as well go with the lower-end 5017 or 8926. Why spend the extra few hundred bucks for something that looks the same? Here are the differences between the low-end 8926 and the high-end 9937. The 9937 uses a high-end sapphire crystal while the 8926 uses the mid-end mineral crystal. The 9937 has a larger cyclops (Magnification Bubble) than the 8926, which allows it to resemble more closely to the Rolex Submariner. One of the largest differences are the movements. The 8926 uses a Japanese Miyota movement which is used in Citizen automatics. The Miyota is not bad at all! It's really good, it just doesn't compare with the Swiss Sellita SW200 movement used in the 9937. The differences in the movements are the 9937 has a 28,800 BPH compared to the 8926 that beats at 21,600. Now what does this mean? Sweeping second hand motion! That's right, the 28,800 will move at 8 increments per second compared to 6 per second on the 21,600. That means the 9937 will tick smoother and because it beats at the same rate as a Submariner at 28,800. The second hand ticking will be nearly the same! While the 21,600 will be a bit rougher. The 8926 will also have a cheaper bracelet, the 9937 uses a very strong sturdy bracelet that weighs a MEGATON! The end links on the 9937 also doesn't fold like the 8926 does. Because of this, another closer resemblance with the 9937 to the Rolex Submariner. The 9937 uses a slightly smaller minute hand than the 8926. The 8926 uses a minute hand that is the size of a Rolex 50th anniversary Submariner while the 9937 uses a regular sized one. Now another difference again is that the 9937 will say Swiss Movement on the bottom of the dial, while on the 8926 it will say Japan Movement. Although there may be some more differences between them, this is all I can think up at the moment! So for the conclusion? I am very happy with this watch, it is just monstrous for the pricing. Do I recommend it? It depends. If you don't care much about watches at all and don't care about the differences I provided for the price differential and would rather save money. Then I would say go with the 8926, but if you do care and you love watches then hey! Save the money and get the 9937! It's well worth it.

From Excitement to Extreme Dissapointment
15 years ago I was actually an authorized dealer for Invicta Watches. This particular line of Invicta Watches, with the Swiss 26 jewel movement, was always a very high quality watch, so I finally decided to purchase one for myself. I already own many other watches from Invicta's lineup, ranging from basic quartz based watches through several of their 21 jewel automatic models. The 9937 is effectively touted as Invicta's highest quality automatic diver's watch, and I was excited to receive it. Upon opening the box, I was slightly disappointed, as the packaging didn't seem to be the quality that I was used to from years ago when I was a dealer. I actually thought the watch was used, as there were several small scratches, and the warranty card package was pressed awkwardly into the top of the watch box, and the paper was torn. It almost seemed as though it may have previously been a display unit somewhere. I would have returned it, but I was heading out of town and wanted to wear the watch while traveling, so I held onto it. Initially, everything seemed to be solid. With the exception of the aforementioned scratches, the build quality was very nice. The bracelet is nice and thick, the clasp snaps closed with a reassuring click, and the weight is perfectly balanced. Overall, the watch seemed very nice, so when I got back from my trip I decided to just keep it. I've been wearing it for about 6 months now, and things have unfortunately gone downhill. While the bracelet and body of the watch have held up, the movement itself is highly questionable. It stops working all the time. Even after I just finished winding it, when I screw the crown back down the watch will lock up. I have to unscrew it and try again. Sometimes shaking it will free up the movement. I also own an automatic watch winder, and regardless of the setting I try, the movement still stops even while in the winder. Just prior to the problems with my watch, I had decided to purchase my father one for his birthday, and when it arrived my suspicions about the packaging were confirmed. His watch box was much nicer, the watch was free of any scratches, the warranty card holder was in perfect condition, and overall things appeared to be perfect. However, as the saying goes, you can't judge a book by it's cover. Within three weeks his watch stopped working altogether. The second hand simply locks up and moves a few seconds forward, then a few seconds backward, then forward, etc... I have since returned it to Amazon. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the 9937 after now having purchased two of these watches. Unfortunately, do to the fact that I've had two bad experiences with this model of watch, I simply cannot recommend it. * UPDATE: The watch has completely stopped working now. I'd give it zero stars, but one is the lowest it allows. This has happened to TWO of the 9937 watches pictured above. Very disappointing.

Best value I found in Swiss movement watches, and my favorite style.
I had a Rolex Submariner, James Bond model, 1954, for awhile. I liked the small size, accuracy, but didn't really like carrying 25-50 grand in plain site. Or, to be more accurate, was concerned about it, since I work with a variety of criminals, from murder to drugs. I had a number of other watches, of poor quality, and wanted one or two with excellent movements, style, and I liked the Submariner look. Invicta's 9937 is a bit larger then the watch it pays homage to, but, it's a beautiful watch, and very well built. It has a swiss movement, but is not made in the country. This means it doesn't get the strict examination and standards of the Swiss, but, you don't get the cost, or upkeep cost, either. Others have mentioned this watch costs less then the service required on a Tag Hauer. My concern is was I going to be lucky, and get a watch that was well made, and accurate? Invicta's service is horrible, according to most reviewers,so plan on using a local watch maker for service. I've had the watch for two weeks, and it's accurate to a minute with my computer. I just set it to the second, so I'll check back later. I find that a automatic watch that is under a minute after two weeks is plenty accurate enough for me. Some say this watch comes with crystal, some say Fusion. It's very bright, and so far has not scratched. The generic, non-specific documentation is a bit of an insult to the quality of this watch. Did find out it needs to sit in sunlight for 4-5 hours for the luminescent stuff on the dial to work at night. You get a one year warranty, and 28 dollar handling charge if you use it. You ship only the watch, if you have a custom band. They recommend a yearly inspection of the gaskets, to make sure it's waterproof, by a watch maker. That kind of kills the buzz I have from having a watch that doesn't need to have a battery changed yearly. I have a Seiko Pogue that was still intact, with no service, after 43 years. That's pretty amazing. The problem is this watch is, at least from the movement, in a different category from most of Invicta's watches, and the instruction manual is designed as a one size fits all. Kind of reminds me of buying a Nissan GT-R Nismo and getting a manual designed for a Versa... I had hoped to get a watch that worked out of the box, and if it didn't, was going to send it back to Amazon. I got an excellent, beautiful, functional watch for a great price. Pricing on this watch is strange. I paid 252.00, so far lowest. Now it's up to 319.00, and claims a retail price of 1295.00?

Solid, Substantial, Handsome, and Classy
This watch was under my Christmas tree this year, and I absolutely love it. I've had a Swiss Army Victorinox stainless quartz diver for about 20 years now, and while I still like and appreciate that watch, this Invicta has already won my heart. I have tried several other watches on in jewelry stores, including the Tag Heuer Aquaracer models, and the quality of this Invicta seems every bit as good, if not better. The bracelet and clasp are thick and solid. The mirror shine on the center oyster links is stunning. Even the lug attachment band pieces are solid, rather than flimsy stamped pieces. The band is classy and elegant, yet simple. And the look of the watch itself, of course, is modeled after one of the classiest designs ever, the Submariner. Yes, it is a shameless copy. And why not? What's to improve on a design that has been successful for decades? Well, actually Invicta has made an improvement on the Submariner design, and that is the exhibition back allowing you to see the movement in action. Automatic watches like this aren't for everybody. This is a true enthusiast's watch. You become attached to it once you put it on and realize it depends on you for it's power. The sweep second hand is mesmerizing after years of seeing the stop-start ticking of a quartz movement. This is not a watch you would wear while doing outside chores. It's too nice for that. It's solid enough to take a beating, no doubt about it, but this watch is at its best when the band is gleaming and scratch-free. It's perfectly suited for your best suit or tux, but works equally well with jeans and a golf shirt. Mechanically, mine may not even be fully broken in yet, but out of the box it is accurate to about 2 seconds per day so far. That is chronometer-like accuracy. I honestly don't see how this watch sells for less than $300. I paid almost $50 for a nice quality Hadley Roma stainless oyster band for my Swiss Army watch, and the Invicta band is better. Easily. Hold the watch under bright light for a minute or two, and the lume on the dial and hands lasts for hours. Add the Swiss movement and jewelry-like finish of the case, dial, and bezel, and like I said this watch is a bargain. I am totally enthralled by this watch, proud to wear it, and have become attached to it in a very short time.

Absolutely fantastic watch!!!!
First off let me say that this is a fantastic watch, it keeps time so well I am impressed!! I had only heard about Invicta from the odd website and always saying negative things about the brand, but I will tell you I only have great things to say about the brand. This watch cost about 4 big ones, but well woth it, the swiss movement is excellent, and it has weight that you will get use to in a day or 2 then won't realize your even wearing it. It came in the butter box as I call it lol yes the yellow one but I don't mind its a nice box. The watch was all sealed in plastic the face and back as well, and it is shiny a clean sporty dressy watch, it is identicle to the submariner a very well done homage only the name is how you could tell its not one of the big boys. The second hand is very smooth and keeps working gor about 40 hours if not worn, it does turn heads thats for sure and the thing is its not a replica, as the big boys never re newed the pattened lisence a few years ago so many brands jump on the popular style, I love this brand so much I just bought 9 more Invictas and have not had a problem yet all wotk great and all came in a butter box, you know what if you have always wanted a submariner but its not in the budget let me say get this watch you will not be let down and you will feel great wearing it it is very well made heavy thick bracelet fantastic polish snd brushed parts, you csnt go wrong get one and enjoy!!!

Bien, bel objet

Sellita SW200 powered Invicta
I picked this up on Amazon Global and it came from America for the princely sum of £235 including import fees, today some 4 months later it's for sale for a little over £400. This is a great watch IF you get a good one, the Swiss movement made by Sellita is essentially an ETA 2824 and both these movements are found in watches five figure price tags. I actually have two of these one is over fifteen years old, has been serviced a couple of times and gains about 1 second per day and the newer one which gains 3 to 5 seconds per day. The bracelet is the same on both (there are some very slight differences to the clasp) and it's stood the test of time very well. The watch is well made and nicely finished with my two criticisms being rubbish lume and a stiff bezel (on the newer one) I awarded the value for money stars based on the price I paid, at £400+ I think that you're getting close to some better brands, but the 99370B remains a solid prospect if you don't need low light visibility. Perhaps if Invicta sorted the lume, added a sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel it would seem a more competitive, but that said there are many watches at this price point that have a rattly Miyota or a NH35A, at least here you're getting an excellent quality high beat 28,800 bph (8 ticks per second) the Sellita SW200 is a clone of the ETA 2824 originally made under licence although I believe any patents would have expired by now.

Fantástico
La calidad del reloj es muy buena. Los acabados son estupendos. Tenía muchas dudas con la precisión del reloj pero no me esta defraudando. Ahora esta entre uno y tres segundos al día. Muy contento.
