Waterproof Dry Bag 35L - Roll Top Sack for Kayaking Sailing Boating

EDIT ------------------------------------------------------- I have had a four days trip to Wales on a Motorcycle and we got caught a few times in very serious downpours, one where I got soaked to the bones but this backpack worked well and nothing got wet inside. Comfort wise, the straps do their job and it was easy to carry on the motorcycle or when walking. The capacity is aready sufficient at the minimum size (straped tight) but I know it can take a lot more. That the last bag I was considering taking for the trip but that was really the perfect one. I'll use it every time I know it'll be wet and muddy. ORIGINAL REVIEW ----------------------------------------- I usually review only things I absolutely like or items I regret having bought. This bag here seems of excellent quality for this kind of price, although I have yet to really test it. The shoulder straps are pretty thin but this should be OK for those using this backpack with jackets. If it's not your case, you can get some cheap shoulder pads to add some comfort (I'll probably do it myself). Two tights pockets inside (zipped and a net), big enough for documents or a phone. The bottom doesn't have any reinforment cover, so the main seams are exposed. It's probably best not to drag it on a rough surface, like a road. But we all know that items of this price range must be handled with a certain care anyway. What actually really impresses me is the phone case. First it was there (some review said they didn't have one). It's made of the same material as the bag with a hard shell at the bottom. The closing mechanism is easy to operate and pinches the case tightly closed. Now, the most impressive part is actually that this case fits my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra with its rugged case on (Spigen Tough Armour). A nearly 7 inch screen phone with a big rubber case. Really astonishing! I thought it would go straight to the bin but this waterproof phone case is actually really useful. I can still operate the screen through the plastic and it'll be good to have when using my phone as satnav on the motorcycle and rainy days. Things I liked about this Earth Pak 35 litre rucksack: Fully water resistant rolltop design, chest and waist straps for stability and comfort when fully loaded, strong loop handle for hand carrying /hanging to store, reflective strip - helpful for walking /cycling in poor visibility, d-rings on both shoulder straps (for external carry; such as sunglasses case, small pouch, headphones case etc...), 35 litre capacity - I fitted sweatshirt. 10 inch tablet (in slip case), 15 inch laptop (in neoprene sleeve), tech pouch (for charging cables, plugs, USB flash drives), GorillaPod SLR mini tripod + smartphone clamp (in neoprene case), 1l water bottle, A5 sized notepad, and had loads of room to spare! 35l size weighs approx. 650g when empty - I weighed it. The bag is very comfortable to wear on long walks - the back panel is well padded. Wide choice of colours - I went for black, for everyday use. As an added bonus Earth Pak supply a water resistant phone pouch which can protect your smartphone at the beach! (My new phone is slightly too big to fit this). The only downsides are those inherent to the rolltop design - no ability to lock the bag, and slow to open and close. No internal organization - small mesh pocket & key clip only. (i use two tech organizer pouches I already own for organization). No external bungee cords - for external carry. There are no external water bottle pockets, so you either have to open the main compartment or externally hang your water bottle (you will have to supply your own carabiner). 100% recommended by me!

I was looking for a waterproof bag that I expected only to be using for our trip to Bali. Something that could be taken through streams, waterfalls and splashing waves of fast boats between islands. This backpack was exactly that! I got the 35L backpack and it was perfect for our trip and it was our main traveling pack once we landed there. I had taken this through almost neck deep water and all of our stuff was safe and dry. I took this through water falls and had absolutely zero worry about our camera gear, towels or phones. I was extremely comfortable and what I also like is that as its only a single large compartment, the only way to access the stuff is by unclipping, this means that if someone does attempt to get in there, you will certainly notice. Long term use: As above, I bought this for a trip to Bali and when I got back I was so happy with it that I kept using it for my commuter bag. This bag has been absolutely perfect, it fits in in the city setting, as it's waterproof then all my work stuff is gonna stay dry and save, and finally it's tough as hell. Currently it's been 8 months and I've been using this pack everyday with no holes or damages anywhere. I've already taken it to other trips and it's also a perfect carryon bag, it holds everything I need and quick to grab. This thing is super tough and I'm totally going to continue using it for future trips.

I’ve had the Earth Pak Waterproof Backpack for over a year now, and it’s been an excellent choice for outdoor activities, especially when it comes to keeping my gear dry. The heavy-duty roll-top closure and waterproof design have kept my belongings protected even in heavy rain, and the adjustable straps make it comfortable to carry. However, I’ve now noticed that the bottom of the backpack started to wear away, exposing a hole. This is a bit disappointing considering how durable the rest of the bag has been. I’ve been using it for hiking, kayaking, and other outdoor activities, and while the backpack still works well, the hole at the bottom is something to be mindful of if you're planning to use it in rugged conditions. Overall, it’s a great bag with fantastic waterproof capabilities and ample space, but the wear on the bottom could be improved for better long-term durability.

Ive had this bag a long time now and about to purchase another. If you want a well made, strong and durable wet pak, i can highly recommend this backpack. It has a handy pocket on the front with a very sturdy zip, strong arm straps and is large enough to carry all my gear when backpacking, camping and kayaking. This bag really does stand up to being thrown around and treated ruff but still stays waterproof

I already own a "standard" 30L Earth-pak and am very impressed by it. I use it daily to carry laptop etc (right hand bag in image). I wanted a larger one. In the images you can see that I have 3 Earth-paks. The middle one is this review. I first bought the 55L (left bag on image) not realising that were 3 types/styles of Earth-pak bags. Then I learned within days that there is a summit version (this version) which is a different shape (fatter but shorter) than the first 55L I bought (taller and thinner by a few inchs). Where as I was a little disappointed with the first 55L bag (left on image - nothing wrong with it but its big with few features), this Summit version I am very pleased with. The 3rd image shows all 3 bags with roil tops rolled and fastened. Here the shape difference can be seen. You can have sleeping mat or bag strapped to the top of the summit but not on the other 55L. The summit bag becomes more square and compact when packed. The Summit 55L has a splash proof front pocket where the seams join and are rubberised (not tested for water ingress). This zip looks the same as on the 30L front pocket with 2 differences, 1) is that the sip is vertical not horisontal and 2) it has a protective dome over the zip top which in theory will stop water from getting in better. I can say that the 30L bag front pocket did get wet/damp in the rain. I think that the Summit one will (probably) also get damp at the least. The summit also has 2 x Molle attachment points. (The other two bags dont). I think that this will be useful. It also has a strap that can hold down anything on top or just firmly hold down the roll top middle. Inside these is a mesh pocket with a clip and a small zipped pocket inside. These are (will be) useful for keys and cards etc. The zipped pocket looks too small for a modern smart phone but might just be big enough. (The other 55L version on the left on image does not have these inside or outside pockets, nor does it have a strap on top or the molle). The zip quality I can't say much about as I havent used it enough (only testing) but it feels quality/sturdy. Personally the front zip pocket I dont and wont use much because when the bag is full that front pocket is squeezed tight so not much can go in it. The shoulder straps are comfortable for me and the waist strap when used makes everything easier to carry. I havent been out with this bag but I have with the smaller 30L and it is comfortable. There are D rings fitted (to all styles). The 500D material feels tough and durable (the 30L has been and shows no signs of wear). For my type of use I can see these bags lasting for many years but if you are constantly chucking them in and out of a boat or dragging them over rocks when climbing I have no idea how they would fare. All the Earth bags come with a waterproof phone bag that is on a lanyard and separate. I do use this around my neck for cards and phone. Personally, I'd be careful about putting keys in either the inside or outter zipped pockets as the pressure might cause a key to puncture the material (maybe, possibly - it just feels that it might). I am a fan of these bags now. The 55L on the left was £31, the Summit 55L was £50 and the 30L was £23. The 55L simple version without pockets which is taller and narrower I don't really like as its very tall for a short person and for the size the lack of pockets will be missed. Also it will be difficult to attached a sleeping mat/bag to the outside where as the summit has this covered due to the style of fastening the roll top. But the price difference reflects this. I also like the green colour and the contrast between the black and green is good where as on the cheaper 55L that green is different and I think doesnt make the bag look as good.

Deceptively large and holds half a ton of gear. Would certainly recommend this. I have a few of these bags of various brand, and a three Earth Pak ones that I have, have outlasted the others.

Awesome bag... Got the big one as it rolls down to acceptably sized for general use. Gets all my tech gear to work in a rain storm bone dry on a motorcycle. High visibility and reflective trim is a bonus. The chest strap could be lower and the straps a bit more padded for hikers... But it's brilliant for a motorbike where the pillion seat carries most of the weight. Would buy again... Better value than the Oxford equivalent. Waterproof phone pouch may be useful too 👍

I travelled with this backpack for nearly 5 months throughout Asia. It held up quite well and was comfortable to wear with 20-22 kilos of contents. Nothing ever broke inside and while the backpack got a bit stained on its outside after nearly 20 airline trips, it certainly was never punctured and also didn't spill any contents.

Good bag, solid and easy to clean. Straps are comfortable only thing missing would be a larger internal storage section for a laptop. Very happy and would recommend.

Made of good quality, can hold a lot of stuff like it very much and the straps are very comfortable, will purchase again
