What is the length of the rope including the handle from end to end? I want to make sure it will work with the top pulley on my machine.

Can anyone explain what could possibly make this worth $80?

I do like it, I like the grip, but I am not sure it is worth $80

Is the bottom of the rope built into the handle or does it come out the bottom? I'm wondering if the rope wears out if you can simply replace it?

It is molded in the bottom is closed. It would take many years at a commercial gym for this to wear-out. You couldn't do it in a lifetime. The pulley prevents any wear from friction.

Does this item emit any odor, such as from chemicals?

There is a faint odor when first opened, but it doesn't linger. I've had mine for a few months and there is no current odor at all.
