Terrific substitute for a hangboard if you cannot afford one/do not have the space to mount one. You can do pullups on them, hang from them, and the different pockets (and the top) allows for different grips/holds. It should be noted that it doesn't serve well as an undercling style hold, but the range of things you can do on them makes up for them (and you could probably do it if you are determined enough). I attached these to the bars of a low stairwell, although they can also be tied to things such as pullup bars or strong pipes. The rock rings can be tied to dangle at different lengths, which allows for more one-sided training if need be. The only other thing to note is that the holds are a bit slippery when straight out of the package, you might need to dust them with some chalk.

So these things are really amazing. They attach easily to a pull up bar. They are an excellent addition to any climber who lives in an apartment or somewhere they can't mount a full size training board. One note of caution: before using wipe them off. Preferably with steel wool or a good stiff paper towel. After the machining process, there are some little SHARP flakes and pieces left behind. These make nasty splinters as i came to find out. Other than that, they are amazing and create a great workout. Even those who just want to change up their workout routine or add variety should consider them.

Affordable and awesome. I hung these off a higher part on my deck, and now do pull-ups many times a day as I walk by or see them and go out side and knock a few out. Well worth the money. The way they rotate (if needed) is nice as it allows you to work different muscle groups, and are easy on the shoulders. The different grips, from the top of them to the three slots, vary greatly in difficulty. Love em.

These are great whether you’re a boulderer or just looking to spice up your pull-ups. You can go full grip, thumbless, three fingers, or two fingers. Easy to use, throw over a pull-up bar or tree limbs and get to it. Great quality, I’ve had and used for over a year with no issues.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I use these for pull-ups and other training. I drilled into my joists in the shed and have an eyebolt I clip these into. If I’m using the finger holds I usually put a 5 gallon bucket to stand on for an assist. This is actually a replacement set, I had a pair last for about 15 years but a small chunk broke off and the rope is showing signs of aging so I was starting to feel uncomfortable on the old ones.

Overall this was a good "starter" set to practice finger strength. Pros: Solid block of plastic and seems durable. Provided strings are reasonably long. High friction surface that are easy to hold onto. The dangling holds make it more challenging for your core and shoulder muscles to hold your body still. Cons: Slightly more bulky and heavy than I wanted for traveling purposes (bring along a trip to hang in the hotel room? not easy to do!). High friction surface become tough on the skin as you get stronger. Wood becomes the better choice. Update: after about a year and a half, I have found these to be easier on the skin after the rough surface has been worn down with use. I would say wood is still better for the skin and -- because wood is more slippery -- a better challenge. These have held up well with use. As there is higher friction, I am able add more weights without being scared of slipping off. There's a trade off to everything I guess!

I purchased these after using them once. I am using them to switch up shoulder workouts from the standard exercises, and they are phenomenal. It is a great way to improve grip strength, and forearms are worked as well. A great product, and it can be mounted in a solid fashion as opposed to hanging them. I passed the rope around an object, and back through where it is mounted on the sides of the rings and tied a square knot on the back. It worked really well.

Buying these alone were great, they are so portable and you can do a variety of exercises and holds. VERY easy on the joints thanks to the added range of motion. But if you really want to have fun with these, mount them along side a training board such as the metolius simulator 3D. You have literally thousands of possibilities of holds and it never gets boring and is a huge challenge depending on what you want out of your training.

The Metalius Rock Ring has very real touch of Rock Surface while you do the hanging or chin up. It is very effective for its functions and the quality is very durable. It is value for money. I am very glad with the purchase. Thank you very much.
