I can see how a 3/8" drive socket fits on the end of the tool but how would I use it for Torx or Phillips bits?

you can buy 3/8 socket type bits. Or if you own a impact driver like this one12PC HAND IMPACT DRIVER SET SID12PBA . Make sure the bit is rated for impact use. Normal bits have a good chance of blowing apart.

Is there any advantage to this item versus the Lisle 60260 seized fastener remover kit?
