I updated to the latest FW as of Sept 2015.  It works with Amazon but has some problems.  CC doesn't work correctly - If you turn it on, then off, then back on, it will permanently display "This is sample text" on your screen with no more captions.  If you try to fast forward or rewind, it gets mixed up on where it is.  Fast forward may dump you near the beginning of the movie.  Seems to be random.  This makes it very hard to back up and replay something you've missed.  Finally, after about 15 minutes of play, it will go to a screen saver screen.  You just need to push a remote button to clear this.  Sad that Sony can fix these FW issues.

Does anyone have fix for the UK TV Shows from Netflix in which the Video is jumpy

When I try to watch l watch California network stations I have the same problem Netflix is under attack from Comcast, Verizon.....exedra for unpaid for internet resources (bandwidth). They are claiming that Netflix traffic through their fiber-optic lines is overloading their fiber lines and data has to be diverted. Their study says one thing and Netflix is looking for an unbiased study. It's all about the money. If your Sony BDPS5200 3D has connection problems, remove the power supply plug from the unit; wait 30 seconds and plug back in. This will resolve any internal problems.

For sure it plays normal DVD discs.  I haven't tried 2D blu-ray myself, but the promotional literature says it will.  In fact, it won't play 3D blu-ray unless you have a 3D TV (obviously).
